Team List Tuesday – X-23 Edition

Adamantium skeleton? Almost certainly. Superhuman healing factor? Without a doubt. Guys, I think Therese Aiton might actually be a real-life X-23 (of X-men fame). How else can you even begin to explain how she avoided any serious injury from her sickening head clash with Phoebe Desmond? I am telling you – adamantium skeleton. It explains everything. She is a football mutant with superpowers and that is why she is able to take her place in the team for Round 2.

Speaking of superpowered women, Simaima Taufa and Botille Vette-Welsh head an unchanged roster for the Parramatta Eels. The Blue & Gold travel to Wollongong this week to take on the St George Illawarra Dragons – who like the Eels, also prevailed in their Round 1 clash.

Dean Widders will be tasking his charges with the responsibility of consolidating on everything they displayed against the Knights. While late game Maddie Studdon heroics got the Eels over the line, realistically Parramatta could have taken a vice-like grip on the game far earlier had they converted a trove of opportunities in the first half. The Eels have barely begun to scratch their potential in the NRLW but time is of the essence here. With four regular season rounds left they need to accelerate their growth aggressively and that begins this week by slaying the dragon slayers.

Thanks for the write up Forty! Loving the double dose of everything EEL now that we have a women’s team in the top tier. Here’s hoping for a 2 from 2 start. Go Parra!
