NRL Team List
Round 15 vs Canberra Raiders, 7:35PM Saturday, CommBank Stadium
Well there isn’t a great deal happening in the team sheet this week as Jason Ryles picks and sticks with the same squad amidst all the injuries plaguing the club. That means that Teancum Brown looks set to win a second straight NRL cap while the extended bench has been tweaked with a minor inflection to include Toni Mataele, Ryley Smith and Araz Nanva.
Honestly, there isn’t much more for me to try and stretch out for TLT. Harrison Edwards probably starts at dummy half for the third game running in spite of being named on the bench unless this is the week the coach decides to pull the trigger on the great reverse switcheroo.
Canberra are without Hudson Young and Ethan Strange due to State of Origin duties while Savelio Tamales misses Round 15 due to a concussion. The Green Machine does get a modest positive offset with the return of Sebastian Kris in the centres.
The Eels return home to CommBank Stadium and perhaps that is the poultice they need to soothe some sloppiness across the park in the last fortnight. While they have shown legitimate ticker against both the Knights and the Bulldogs they have cruelled their owns chances of victory with frustrating consistency. At this point, even just a smidgen of polish would go a long way on Saturday – let alone a hearty dollop.
The incredibly short turn around certainly won’t help there and it is a bit baffling that a Sunday fixture wasn’t secured for the Blue & Gold following a match on Monday.

NSW Cup Team List
Round 15 vs Canberra Raiders, 2:00PM Sunday, James Hardie Centre of Excellence
There is little-to-no tweaking done in the NSW Cup this week either despite their massive capitulation to Canterbury on Monday. They do get a slight boost this weekend in the fact that their game takes place on Saturday which means that players like Apa Twidle and Charlie Guymer will not be on a minutes restriction in order to provide coverage for the NRL bench.

NSW Womens Premiership Team List
Round 1 vs Mounties, 12:00PM Saturday, James Hardie Centre of Excellence
Well didn’t this one creep up on me! Round 1 of the NSW Womens Premiership starts this week and the Eels have named a squad the blends established NRLW talent, plenty of pathways prospects and some new faces all together.
Former Wallaroo Layne Morgan has been named at five-eighth in his first official action as an Eel. It looks like the Blue & Gold have secured some additional backline depth with Tess Staines returning to the club after stints at the Tigers and Knights.
Tia Matthews has won a starting berth in the backrow after starring in the Tarsha Gale and she is joined by fellow Gale talents Bailey Ma-Chong, Alana O’Loughlin and Shire Thocolich as they are named on the bench.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team List
Round 15 vs Canberra Raiders, 12:00PM Sunday, James Hardie Centre of Excellence
Updated for Round 15. Jackson Koina is absent this week after earning selection for the QLD Under 19s. NSW have not named their corresponding squad yet so it remains to be seen who is out of action for the Eels on that front. As it stands, some of their notable omissions this week include Steven Nunn, Chris Petrus and Ioane Lui.

You forgot to include the NSW Womens Prem. Round 1 this weekend
sorry premature. I see you have it there. Please delete my comment and i beg for your forgiveness
No all good Chris, fair play to point it out! It completely slipped my mind between the year flying by and the short turnaround from the Monday game. Caught it almost immediately as I hit ‘post’ – such is the way with things like that.
Any idea what is happening with Ryley Smith? Is he still carrying sternum injury? Why hasn’t he been selected in first grade? Im a bit miffed
