The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

The Warriors are rolling into town in Round 9 as The Tip Sheet previews a trio of contests against the New Zealand franchise across the NRL, NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg. Craig, John and Chris go into extra depth in the Flegg and Cup this week as the Eels make some bold calls surrounding the acceleration of some talented prospects including Cameron Bamblett, Ryda Talagi and Chris Petrus.

Parramatta were let down by a sloppy third quarter against the red hot Sea Eagles last week – can they lock in for the 2nd placed Warriors on Saturday? The show discusses some crucial selection decisions while the boys speculate on some possible changes to the team to combat the outstanding forward pack of the Warriors.

We are well and truly into the grind of this horror year now.

I really hope the boys don’t drop their heads.

We need to jag a win or two before all these guys come back to keep from the year being over again at the halfway mark.

It appears effort isn’t enough in the current NRL. You got to get the calls too. Let’s hope!

luk, there are some lethal combinations in the NRL but none more than Badger/Gough. We couldn’t win under them if we had the NSW Origin team playing in Parra jerseys.

    Thanks for the show gents.
I enjoyed the insight of some of our juniors.
We were down before the dogs game and then over the moon. We had some hope going into the Manly game and as per Parra script, we are now down again. That means we will win today and win comfortably.
Glad to see Pezet in cup, that’s where he belongs unless Moses is unavailable. We need to find our 6 for season 2027 now. Let’s see what we have or
give us time to go to market should the answer not be in our stocks. Pezet won’t be the reason we play finals this year so why waste our time and resources developing him for another club.

It’s becoming clear that low errors/high completions is even more critical now, and just to keep you on your toes, the 6 Again call seems to be less heard in the first half, but as soon as you think it’s not so threatening as the game goes on, it suddenly bites you. Sorta like, when fatigue is more expected, the whip comes out. The Warriors seem to adapt well to the current game, good mix of skill/energy, youth/experience and well led by Fisher-Harris, Egan, RTS, and DWZ.
Surrendering possession to them too much will not be the way forward here. Then our best hope wil be if they return the favour.

Kelma knock on after points then Kelma not even positioned correctly to give ford untouched passage to the line… shocked I tell you…shocked

Three times this year we’ve completed at over %80 we won all three games.
Your professional footballers it’s not a squash ball , hang on to the bloody thing.

  6. Ron

Will penisini showing how poor he is defensively. That was straight out giving up – as highlighted by Ryles reaction. And parra fans continue to defend players like him and Kelma… awful stuff

I’m still not sold on how Ryles has us playing and even how our roster looks balance wise.
Yeah obviously players out, but even at full strength we are not massively improved upon what we saw tonight.

The eels do not have a roster of big powerful athletes. Brads grand finals team and regular finals teams we had origin level middles, and at least one extremely powerful ball running back rower in the starting 17, and one of the better hookers in the NRL.

At the moment, there’s no forwards you see play for the eels who look more physical or more athletic than the opponents forward packs.

But I don’t think it’s just a roster thing alone. Ryles emphasis on fitness and mobility has made all of them look flat, nobody looks explosive or damaging like you seen from the warriors team.

Our yardage I think is the worst in the NRL. I thought at full strength and no injuries our forward pack looked ok for this year. But even at full strength we looked far weaker than every top 8 team to be honest.

Really disappointing. Are we in for another few years of disappointment? I am struggling to see how we can compete for the title in the coming years when we have not shown the ability to sign good players, and we are notoriously bad at developing star quality outside backs (which you need in order to win a comp).

Am I dooming here.. or is this something some of you guys are also seeing. And Moses is way out of form too. Doesn’t help behind a team with no go forward.
