The Tip Sheet – 2024 Ep 18: Westbound & Up, Eels & Panthers Set To Light Up Friday Night

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

Round 2 of the NRL sees the Parramatta Eels take on the Penrith Panthers in a fixture that has become an annual blockbuster for the code. Sixties and Forty20 are fired up to preview the Friday night grudge match but there is plenty of footy to go around this weekend with the Eels in action across 7 grades.

The Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale host the Central Coast Roosters and Canberra Raiders respectively at Eric Tweedale Stadium. The boys head down South this week to take on the Storm in the Harold Matthews and SG Ball. The Fiaola and Matthews squads are looking to lock in their places near the top of the ladder while the Gale and Ball look to reignite their seasons.

The Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup teams are both taking on the Panthers. Both started their seasons with first up losses in Round 1 and will be looking for the rapid fire bounce back. Can they get it done?

Momoisea released is a good start. Time to let Rodwell and Taumpenu go as well. Find a winger and back up fullback and half. Hope they do not promote Loizoi or Lumelume. Wouldnt be surpised to see Sanders upgraded.

I really hope guymer gets a spot – he’s the type of hardworking, defenaive minded player good teams are built on.
