Match Updates

For first 15 minutes, the Eels gifted far too much possession and territory to the Sharks. However, the Eels stuck to their defensive systems and repelled multiple waves of Shark attacks.

When they finally had the opportunity to put pressure on the Cronulla line, the Parra girls delivered. Fontayne Tufuga went perilously close in a ten metre charge, then from the play the ball, Leonie Vei would not be denied as she gets over for the first points of the game.

Parra needed nearly all of that 25 minutes remaining before finally putting this game to bed with a superb set of six.

Firstly Bailey Ma-Chong took a 20 metre tap and split the Sharks defence before linking with supports. A couple of tackles later, Leonie Vei brushed past defenders on her way to touching down between the posts for her second try of the day. It’s a crucial one indeed – one that should just about see the Eels home with only a handful of minutes left on the clock.
