The Tip Sheet – 2023 Ep 25: Broncos & Eels Battle For Survival Of The Fittest

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

The Top End awaits the Parramatta Eels in the NRL while Harold Matthews and SG Ball find themselves just one game away from their respective grand finals. There is so much to play for this week and Sixties and Forty20 take a deep dive into all of it in The Tip Sheet!

In the Junior Representatives the Harold Matthews take on the Newcastle Knights while the SG Ball face minor premiers Canberra Raiders. Parramatta’s Harold Matthews team produced a splendid team performance last week that showcased some of the finest defence you will in that grade. That now becomes their benchmark ahead of the Newcastle clash. The SG Ball rallied late against a fast and physical Wests Magpies team but will need to find an extra gear against the Raiders.

Lengthy trips lie ahead for the NSW Cup and NRL. Parramatta’s reserve grade team fly to New Zealand while the NRL squad heads to Darwin. The boys look at a Cup team sheet that is missing plenty of players while taking on a high quality opponent. It is an even tougher assignment in the NRL where the Eels face the top team in the competition in the Broncos. Still, it makes for an outstanding match-up on paper with both teams fielding fearsome packs and the Eels matching up strongly against Brisbane in recent years.

I think Bailey has to play with week and come in for haze. Physically he is still struggling and that’s more than understandable.

Also, If bunnies sign Wighton we need to sign isiah Tass immediately as left centre and jaxon paulo as a winger/back up winger.

Ron, I agree that we should look at any talent in the lower grades at the Bunnies – but Paulo has now made a fist of his shift to the Roosters.

Apparently Paulo is on a minimum deal at roosters and with roosters somehow looking like they will resign jwh, tupou whilst already signing brown, Lenui for next year he might be squeezed out. Unlikely I suppose as it’s the roosters but we should try snap him up on a slightly higher offer 200-300k?

Ron, I agree with your identification of him as a target. When he was at Souths I wasn’t sold on him. But I’ve been impressed with his form at the Roosters.
