The Tip Sheet – 2022 Ep 51: Talking Footy & Life With Jersey Flegg Captain Corey Fenning

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

Just a week after Sixties and Forty20 had a wonderful sit-down with Bill Richards, they get a prized opportunity to discuss life, footy and everything in between with a player that has thoroughly impressed in 2022. Jersey Flegg fullback and captain Corey Fenning takes time out of his busy schedule to join The Tip Sheet in a special episode of the show.

The boys talk about a wide array of topics and issues on and off the field that have shaped Corey in his rugby league journey thus far. Corey details how he arrived at the Eels this year and how he has embraced his role as both captain and a mentor to a young Flegg squad.

It isn’t just about footy anymore either with the importance of a parallel working career higher than ever. Sixties and Forty20 dive into the topic with Fenning and explore how he balances an extremely busy week. The show finishes with a look at the Flegg’s run into the finals and just how much noise the Eels can make if they hit their stride.

Thanks Jimbob. We really appreciated being able to get this player perspective of the demands and enjoyment of pathways footy. You can see what a good communicator Corey is and why he was selected for a leadership role.

He is a very impressive young bloke. When he was speaking about his prep for video sessions, it made me realise the value he places on his leadership. It adds player ownership to video reviews and helps the coach to deliver a more interactive session with that type of buy in.
