The Tip Sheet – 2022 Ep 45: Eels Hunting Tigers, Consistency

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

With a triple of header of footy at Leichardt tomorrow and the threat of some sunshine, Sixties and Forty20 are keen to rip into the previews this week.

There is a momentary pit-stop to discuss the sudden woes of the Melbourne Storm after they dropped consecutive ugly losses but the focus quickly switches back to the Eels in the Jersey Flegg. Corey Fenning will lead a team looking to build on a gutsy win last week as the Parramatta backline shapes up nicely.

In the NSW Cup, Jordan Rankin spearheads a push towards the Top 4 as they tackle the Magpies this week. Western Suburbs are placed second to last in reserve grade and despite some notable names in their roster, the Eels will be wanting to harness the energy from an important win over the Rabbitohs last week.

Finally and most importantly the boys breakdown the NRL clash against the Wests Tigers. Consistency, or a lack thereof, has haunted the Eels over the last two months. If they are to mount a serious push for a Top 4 finish in 2022 then realistically it starts this weekend with a strong win over the Tigers. Given that the Blue & Gold dropped their first meeting to the joint venture back on Easter Monday they can ill afford to take them lightly but the Parramatta play-makers need to take ownership on Saturday night.

Great listen. Unlike Sixties, I didn’t have COVID and was at that dreaded game. A game made worse as I caught COVID at the game.

And I’ll be making the trek to the Eighth Wonder to stand on the hill tomorrow night. Hopefully I won’t be making the walk of shame and damnation post match. RCG first try scorer. Eels by 36.

I also forgot to mention the Storm. Interesting situation. How many more sprays has Bellamy has before they become ineffective?

Nothing to do with anything. Just watching Knights v Bunnies and Latrell got put on report for exactly the same high shot he put on Sivo last week, and it was Knights winger, one on one again. Bunker called it this week. Go figure.

BDon, are you expecting the officials to be consistent? ha, never. Poor L Mitchell will blame someone else for this…
Just hope Parra play well for the 80 mins this weekend.
