All four Parramatta squads in the junior pathways have qualified for the finals and the first week of games brings some doozies. We have derby rematches in the Tarsha Gale and SG Ball Cups as the Eels play back-to-back games against the Canterbury Bulldogs. The Lisa Fiola will face the Central Coast Roosters while the Harold Matthews will host the Canberra Raiders.
Sixties and Forty20 preview all four games and how the Eels stack up with some familiar opponents. The girls both will have a second chance by virtue of their Top 4 finishes while it is sudden death for the boys in a massive Saturday at Ringrose Park.

I understand that oue uniors have a great interest with eels fans, but im concerned that these types of podcasts give the opposition more insight on who to target as you guys probably know more than anyone the progress of our development players and provide further information for opposition recruiters.
Does anyone else feel thos
Take Twidle for example, he’s now been targeted by a number of clubs.
The problem is, I have absolutely zero faith in our r and r to sign players like Twidle and there’s been many instances where they’ve left it too long and other clubs have jumped us.
We let Russell get to a stage where he could talk to clubs, and also Sam Tuivaiti who we.left very late to re sign and now will be available to negotiate this year.
Had we had a stable recruitment policy, I wouldn’t be concerned about promoting our development players, but its very obvious we don’t
Ps, this is nothing against you guys who provides an excellent site for eels fans to get to know the club, and podcasts we like listening to.
This is about the trust we have in O’neill and r& r, who are at the pinnacle of contractual blunders in the nrl
With due respect I don’t think recruitment offices from other clubs are listening to sixty and forty talk about their opinions on our players.
They are going to games and then watching every game on bar.
It’s an incredibly competitive world trying to recruit juniors from other clubs as well as signing our own long term.
Maybe your correct. But don’t forget the eels jnr base is one of the largest, and information the opposition can receive os to their advantage
We have little foresight in the r and r space. Consistently we have played juniors who are free agents – juniors who are clearly talented. Sure there is some context but the net result is appalling. Only Tigers seem to hemorrhage Junior talent like us. APA should be backup fullback and joash back up 5/8. APA is clearly more talented than Jake Tago, Toni Mataele etc but is languishing on a dev deal or similar.
Surely he gets a 2 year deal as first back up fullback and general backline/halves depth
Sorovi was a standout in game 1 Matts last year, did his knee in basically the last tackle and was ruled out for the season,. He’s made the Waratahs age group sides consistently and is one to keep .Big , strong and quick with several full length intercepts in his repertoire.
Bloomfield and Rokasuka have similar traits ( inc. Waratahs) , important that we refrain these backs as Risati has also played age group Tahs, another task for retention.
Can these players and group repeat the early 80s Eels and recent Panthers in becoming a backbone for success.Development and ensuring they have strong players around them the key.
He’s so much better to invest in than mo alameddine and the other wingers in cup. Sorovi, Bloomfield, Rokosuka have some height + athleticism that we so desperately lack in the outside backs
I still can’t fathom why Pezet was brought to the club and walked straight into the top side. It can only be a direct request from Ryles. It’s a novice mistake. Pezet had less credentials to perform at the club than any of our incumbent juniors. And he leaves next year. If you can’t recruit a top liner invest in the juniors you’ve put money into.
I don’t think you’ll see Pezet in fg again unless there’s an injury to Moses
