Yep. To still find a way to win after being down to 11 players then 12 was a tremendous effort. Well deserved victory.

      2. Prometheus

Could just be the type of game against adversity that gets a Parra boy like Galvin wearing the blue and gold. Moses sensational, the referee less so.

  1. Muz

The only negative is Moses is a walk up first choice half for NSW blues, wether it’s half back or 5/8 depending on Clearys availability.

I don’t know if Mitchell can say “no” to the blues?

We saw today we are a completely different side with his inclusion – I still feel if Moses plays all year we could still stand a chance for the top 8.

  2. Hamsammich

The refs tried to swing it but when it was 13 on 13 they couldn’t contain us in the 2nd half. There’s an obvious player we had back but the player that has changed our attack is Dylan Walker. The space he opened up on our left hand side was incredible, nearly every time we went that way in the 2nd half our players were all 1v1 or an overlap. Then we’ve also got Bailey Simonsson who gives his all on every single run and chases every single kick with gusto.

Now to Mitch Moses. With all the other components in the team we were just missing that kicking master-class, direction and aggressive calmness that Mitch brings. He’s the best half in the game bar none. #HereComesTheMoey

Having Mitch and Walker in the team just provides so much class. Imagine by next year the combo.

If Brown passed that ball to Walker he would have scored off the kick off under the posts. Brown ran for 200m ?? Where’s that been..

Tuivaiti was a beast looking for Bird and made him roadkill.

Moretti and Paulo were also good

Simmonson 200m and he’s running with bad intentions this year and extra vigour

I can see Lomax fitting in nicely.

Very exciting game heart in the mouth stuff at times especially down to 11 men we defended our way out of trouble.

So glad for Ryles and the players.

Gavin will be released tomorrow (I’m guessing) and will be announced very soon. They were trying to pressure Ryles today and he played a very straight bat.
Tigers are meeting tomorrow morning so we should find out by lunchtime?

It’s amazing, as soon as Mitch is back you suddenly see all the work the team has put in with JR so far. He just makes that much of a difference

  3. Milo

Tough and gutsy win and yes it comes with errors but gee we have some kids in this team.
Once they learn and I mean all learn to limit errors and sort some defence issues, we will be better mentally too
Composure is what Moses brings. Well done and sorry for this but Wests deserved this for me.

  4. Zero58

If they don’t sign Sam T and Riley Smith then the supporters should storm the castle. Riley was the best out there – man of the match. I know Mitch was good but Riley is a rookie and chases everything. Great win – showed a lot of courage. I hope the officials question the referee with some of his decisions. Can we please not allow Sean Russell to kick for goals. We could have been forty plus. JAC sure makes some bad mistakes that lead to tries. But in all fairness has kept Russell in line with his defence. There is a big difference in that area.

    1. 56 years an Eel

He is rookie of the year by a mile.
On form he is up there. How good can he be after a year or 2?
We need to lock him in more than we need to chase Galvin.

  5. Ron

Shane Richardson is an embarrassment. Has handled this Galvin situation awfully from the moment he decided to put out that overly emotional club statement/hissy fit. After todays loss he was in the room for Benji press conference and was seemingly warning journos not to ask about Galvin. One of the journos rightfully called him out on it.

Tigers are all bark no bite (or whatever the equivalent is for a cat)

  6. Parra 1990

Finally got to see what we looked like with Moses and it was a good sign they just looked so much more relaxed and we’re not so tense.
Simmonson – Wow he has come back as a beast he has been very impressive back to back weeks
Tuaviti – very impressive young footballer he is a definately a talent.
    Iongi – exceptional
Moretti – Hopefully a real breakout game for him realising he does belong in this grade
Not a absolute highlights reel for Moses but he stepped right up at the end and just nailed the game. We were the much better team for huge parts of that match completely outplayed the tigers in the second half and the only reason the tigers got back in that game was thru two awful sin bins. I’d be worried again if I was a tigers fan they do not looked galvanised and a few losses could spell big trouble

    1. Shaun

      “they do not looked galvanised.”

Gold. As per the live reaction, the Tigers have not handled the situation well and I don’t see how the Tigers can salvage the situation. I expect Galvin to be an Eel very soon.

      1. John Eel

See the Galvin family has enlisted Arthur Moses as their counsel in the legal stoush against the Wests Tigers.

To the best of my knowledge Arthur Moses is no relation to Isaac Moses. He is however one of the top Barristers in the country.. If I am wrong about his relationship with Isaac Moses I am sure someone out there will let me know

Wests Tigers have handled this entire situation very poorly. I watched NRL 360 tonight and with the exception of Brent Reed they all lay the blame directly at the feet of Isaac Moses.

There can’t be too many smart people in that club. They could lose Galvin this season based on the way that the club has handled him. There are allegations of bullying and the demotion to State Cup based on his decision not to re-sign.

That will allow him to walk away from his current contract.

        1. MickB

The thing I don’t understand about all the Galvin stuff is for the tigers it seems completely self inflicted. Not sure why people are laying blame on Isaac Moses, he wasn’t the one that made Galvin stand up and explain leaving to his team mates, post all that junk on social media or generally carry on like pork chops. It’s just bizarre. Common sense at the Tigers should kick in and they should be doing their best to keep Galvin through the end of this season at least. But who knows.

Good win with a bit of resilience shown. No Mitch Moses, no win I’d guess. That try where Addo Carr scored in the corner was great evidence of how Mitch straightened up our attack and dug into the line before throwing the cut out. The play was going completely lateral before that.

        2. Milo

I watched that to John, and Anasta is a poor host for mine. I can’t believe he’s running that show.
I Moses as we know has his client first and last. Don’t agree with things he’s done here but the club needs to share some blame.
The players should never show social media posts etc it’s a polarising look

          1. John Eel

Well said Milo. Moses isn’t my favourite player agent. The Eels have had some hard times at his hands. Notwithstanding Mitch’s last contract extension was done with real class.

Whether that is to do with the new Eels CEO Mathew Beach or Moses I don’t know but it was good.

The point is Moses laid the trap and Wests Tigers fell into it. The way things are shaping Galvin could leave the Tigers by June 30.

            1. Milo

We only wish Galvin comes back to Kellyville
I think our new head of Board has done well with the contracts John .

    2. Muz

It also shows how much off field drama and distractions can effect your on field performance

We also had distractions coming into the season with brown saga and that dragged on for weeks

No doubt all of that had a negative impact on our team as well and no doubt destroyed browns form for most games to start the year

The tigers won’t recover from this – even if Galvin comes back into the NRL squad he won’t play his best footy and the cohesiveness between those fractured team mates will negatively impact on field performances

I know it sounds bad but parra needs back luck to strike other teams, Newcastle, panthers, roosters are all going shocking

We just need a few injuries in those other lower teams, a Newcastle coach mid year scaling, or some other drama to strike those bottom say 6 teams

Then if we can stike some form and keep Moses on the field all the sudden we find ourselves just outside of the top 8

      1. Zero58

Muz, if they play Galvin again in first grade he will play his best. He is footballer who loves to play. Why hurt his value by tossing it in. No mate they put him back he give it his all. And that’s why we want to sign him.

        1. Muz

Zero Galvin played poor I thought in cup, but if he played in that NRL game you could bet he probably would have turned up and we would have struggled to beat them.

Galvin in the situation parra was down on troops would have put 2 extra tries on us.

They’ve managed Galvin situation poorly and all we can hope is he signs with us.

          1. Hamsammich

Halves can really only play as well as the platform the team provides them. When Parra dominated field position and possession no one from the tigers played well. As errors crept in late in the 2nd half that’s when the tigers looked more dangerous and scored their 2nd try.

  7. BP

What a game, still a lot to work on but they are improving. The difference Moses makes to our side is undeniable.
I thought Bailey was really strong, his carries were excellent and he kept turning up.
Sam Tuivaiti has a long career ahead of him, he was outstanding and someone we can build our pack around.

    1. Muz

Bp Imagine Bailey + Zac Lomax in the team.

That’s massive meters and impact right there, Bailey is (like last year) proving to be one of our best players again particularly in yardage.

He ran for 200 meters today. The style of game Jason Ryles wants us to play looks like it will be needing guys like Simo & Lomax who can make huge meters – then your forwards can defend better because they are not as relied upon in yardage work.

  8. BDon

Well done men, strike while the iron is hot. That game had so many moments. Some big picture takes:
    1) We finally started well, I think it was first 14 sets completed.
    2) Around the 20-35 minute period errors, penalties, 6 Agains put the curse on us and we started to show that faltering tendency but rallied.
3)Whilst he called 2 or 3 6Agains, The Tigers got off so lightly in that last 5 minutes of 1st half as we came back at them.
4)The 2nd half was off the charts, The Moretti and Iongi sin bins were so poor, that we were rewarded with non stop divine vengeance(and I don’t believe in that stuff).
    5) Generally, when 13 on 13, our defence didn’t look like that ‘oh no,here it comes’ version.

  9. Josh

Tualagi is most unfit/lazy player and Sean Russell and Pennisini miles off first grade standard. Will P just likes looking at himself and flexing on big screen. Terrible defender.

Other than that, young powerful forwards – just given them time. They will be awesome soon. Very proud to be a Fan. Moses is elite. Galvin will outshine Brown. Roster is starting to look exciting.

    1. Eels95

Penisini was very solid defensively today. Some great last ditch legs tackles to save trys. I think you’re way off the mark him. Same with Russell. He had a solid all round game.

      1. Zero58

Agree – they both had great a great game. Penisini was excellent in defence and reminded of his first two years

    2. Mick W

Another Penisini and Russell hater. Doesn’t matter how they play, they are always sh… to some. Both had decent games, both defended well and ran the ball strongly. Russell is playing more like a seasoned player lately, I think he feels he is a real part of the team, not just a fill in, even though he is just filling in. You need the Russell type players in your squad, feel confident he will do his job if needed. Just lay off the hate.

  10. Sebastian Brown

The Tuilagi suspension is pretty annoying after a solid return to first grade but surely Guymer gets his shot in the 2nd row now, tore up there in u19 origin and won the sgball comp there, tackles well and is one of our juniors, would love to see him get a shot to tear it up there.

  11. Muz

How much better did Josh ado car look with a proper half back in Moses out there?

Also they’ve stopped hogging the ball and distributing it to Josh earlier in the play while he as has space.

Josh ado car is an elite finisher and what you saw in that try yesterday, no other winger at our club probably would have pulled that off.

He scooted close to the try line, fended off a good defender in Turuva, then beautiful pass inside to Iongi instead of hogging the ball.

I know Simmonson is more your meter eating / yardage outside back.

But what were missed is a winger who can capitalise on opportunities on the wing and nail those moments.

Josh also made massive plays in terms of intercepts and great reads which saved our asses more than 1 time – having a class winger in your team who can finish is absolutely crucial.

Also props to Russel whose defence has drastically improved with the experienced Josh ado car outside of him.

  12. Namrebo

What I liked is that there seems to be a gradual improvement in the team as the year goes on. This game there was an added confidence I assume due to Moses presence. Of course the gradual improvement means we are going to have weeks like the Canberra game. But as long as I see that ongoing improvement in areas I’ll stay happy.

Sounding like a cracked record but I’ll mention Ryley Smith again. I love that he harasses the kicker in general play instead of giving them a free swing that seems to happen a lot these days. He misses a tackle but keeps chasing. It’s all effort.

The Foxx has obviously changed deodorant recently because all of a sudden we’re getting the ball to him more often.

I think we saw the true character of the team and what Ryles is trying to build in the period where we had eleven on the field. Hopefully that continues.

  13. 57 years an eel

The best moment for mine was in the first half with Turuva attacking the left cornet watching 3 yellow jerseys in unison shepherd him towards the sideline and clean him up.
I dared to dream that the fatal weakness around the edges we have had for so long might be starting to heal.

  14. Zero58

Did we notice Eddie Jones was sitting behind Jason Ryles in the coaching box. Was he a guest or is there something else to consider.
    Very interesting.

    1. Milo

Sixties knows this Zero. He was with team and coaches all week it appears and not surprised tbh he has history with Ryles
