The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!
The Tip Sheet tucks into the final week of trials as Sixties and Forty20 look at everything happening at Parramatta and beyond with all 17 franchises gearing up. Jason Ryles has kept some serious fire power in reserve against the Wests Tigers but fans get their first looks at Zac Lomax and Jack Williams as the boys break down Team List Tuesday.
A final review of the victory over the Knights as well as the weekend results from the Junior Representatives rounds of the news from Parradise before the show turns over to the NRL news.
A series of blowout wins marked a rather uncompetitive week of trials results so what did the boys gleam from their rivals? The show recaps a handful of market moves as the Knights, Warriors and Rabbitohs all make a re-signing a piece before some bold moves in Las Vegas make headlines.
“ Clint Gutherson admits his mother was hurt by how the Eels moved him on, and has since burned all of her Eels merchandise.”
Via: Daily Telegraph”
I think Guthos mum should be grateful our club gave him probably a better opportunity and better pay than he would likely have gotten (for that long) at any other clubs.
We were told it was just gutho who wanted to leave, but obviously there’s more to it. He obviously got pushed and and gutho himself must of been upset. Otherwise his mother would have been happy for him to leave / not set fire to the parra eels jerseys. 🤣
Do you guys think we made the right decision by getting Iongi & Papalii? I personally do. Even if I felt differently at the time of his departure.
I’ve been one of Guthos biggest fans over the years but he cannot, in any way say that he was mistreated by our club!
Ryles was totally honest with him about the future and he chose to leave.
It will be interesting to see how much parra fans boo him now at commbank if they are upset about his mums behaviour. Lol.
Muz, did you notice Gutho wasn’t taking one out hit ups against the Knights? It seems he’s finally listening to his coach and has stopped busting his body with hits ups other players should be taking.
Maybe this season he won’t drop his diff before round 3. He looked fit and injury free, I hope he has a good season but a shocker against us.
Mums will be mums, some comments are better left unsaid, never burn your bridges.
I saw that too mate I thought it was a good idea for them to have the winger waiting to run off him on some kick returns, we probably should of done that more often to stop his body getting flogged. I still feel like gutho isn’t right and injury’s on his knees will probably pop up throughout the season.
I seen in reserve grade we have a young player named Jordan Hill playing for us former tigers junior was a seriously good player in juniors then some injuries.
Remember seeing him a few years ago and thinking what a natural talent hope he kicks on for us could be a good option down the track if all goes well.
What do you think about Wiremu Greig starting in round one pushing Paulo back to bench. Greig was in fine form a couple of years ago and looks to be in fantastic shape. He started last week and is starting again this week. Paulo hasn’t played since halfway through last season.
Werimu definitely looked fitter. I was watching for him.to.tire and struggle to get back into the defensive line, but it wasn’t evident. If Greig can continue to progress, he may be in for a bench spot very soon. This game against the Tigers will be a good challenge for him
Mate Wiremu looked gassed after 5 mins.
A team like the Storm will murder us with the holes he leaves in defence.
There is no way he will start over Junior in fact I reckon the sooner we move him on the better (and I have been a Wiremu fan ) .. I just think hes a long way from the top.
Im not a big fan. I really don’t understand how he’s been at Parramatta for 4 or 5 years. He seems uncommitted to his fitness.
Agreed but it’s not just fitness and weight as a measurable stats. The eye test has never been great around wiremu’s mobility. I think it’s better to prioritise the development of tuivati and mataele amongst others instead of wiremu. Him and lane should be gone at end of the year. Ofa doesn’t have much left either. So we need some young middles to take over soon.

Spark, I’ve said this before, the club has put more development time in Woody than NASA did with their space shuttle.
The club must see a player there somewhere, he showed glimpses of potential in 2022 or 2023, I can’t remember right now but he regressed back to the unfit Woody of the past.
This season is make or break, I can’t see the club persisting past this season.
Another great show gents, thank you.
Count me in for TCT merchandise, I consider TCT as an extension of the club.
I’d proudly wear a TCT shirt. A silhouette of Sixties and Forty behind their mics would be cool. A stress ball is a must for any Parra supporter. I don’t know about caps, I’ve got caps coming out of my you know what thanks to my memberships.
I’d love any blue and gold merch related to Parra that I don’t already own multiples of like scarfs, caps and lanyards.
Momax, love it, that will stick.
A silhouette of Sixties and Forties on a T shirt. ! The small size would start at 6x OS.
Not nice.
Boys the new audio intro has to include Ray Warren calling Eric Grothe snr try against the bulldogs when he finishes with Oh that is one of the biggest try’s you will ever see! Great try great audio.
Good call Tony, that would be great.
Maybe the unspoken one’s try against St George in the final too
The boys have already mentioned the Moses try at the stadium opening.
The Kenny dummy and run against Newtown is one of everyone’s favourite.
I think the boys want to be current with the intro although timeless would save the hassle of making it again.
That’s a good call mate
I’m looking forward to seeing how we handle the ruck this week. Last week against the Knights, we were totally dominated for large parts of the game. Knights players consistently found their front when we tackled them, and dominated our players and got them on their backs in defence. The better sides (no disrespect to a second string knights team) will capitalise on this advantege on roll down the field with crafty work around the ruck.
To be fair dom, a lot out players were nsw cup level or even below that, our nrl team will look completely different in this respect I believe

Tks men. I was listening to your backgrounding to the almost 10 years of the women’s pathways evolvement and it made me think about the game generally. I always chuckle to myself when I hear random negative opinions about the game and it’s players. Opinions from people who just don’t like RL but have no understanding of what actually goes into playing it. Politics, the law, banking, building and many more regularly demonstrate that they’re no better than other sectors of professional endeavour. So sixties your description of long passing to exploit space resonated like Little Stevie to me, we”re all biased to what we know and like best. And geez, I almost went into the foetal position when you profiled the 12 year old back who could run fast and ‘find’ the open pastures.
With you on Leichhardt 60’s!
One of the biggest frustrations of my NRL experience is listening to people call Leichhardt the 8th wonder! Its only a wonder as to why the NRL allows games to continue there. its not even historically significant. I think i once did the math and worked out there had been more games played at the Site of Commbank/Cumberland, and it has been knocked down and changed multiple times.
I haven’t been to Leichhardt in about 8 years, but the main commentary box, notoriously for the last 10 years plus had a blue dooner wrapped around a structural beam in the box to protect people hitting their head. A perfect example of the dump it is and how unfit for purpose it is.
Its a dump and its been a dump for decades and should be considered at embarrassment to the league..
