Thanks guys, good pod as usual.

On BAs extension, it’s good news for the club. He’s done a good job, and memories can be very short, it’s not so long ago that we were a real cellar dweller club. Continuing to deliver a consistent roster that is playing in September is critical to the success of the club.

    That being said ….

Mike Meehall-Wood wrote a great article analysing our over-reliance on our starting middles and the domino effect that is having on fatigue and defence. Hopefully there was a clause in the extension that said “As head coach thou shalt use 17 men each game, with meaningful time for each bench player, and thou shalt drop Waqa Blake and Bailey Simmonsson until such time they learn how to catch, pass and tackle.” 🙂

Mick, I think the problem regarding the bench and certain players is the roster. Hopefully club recruitment can fill the three spots and give Brad options.

    Good pod.
Happy with BA re-signed. Doesnt mean i understand the bench rotation he uses… it might be the catalyst for Moses re-signing. And prevents distraction at end of year again.

Concussion protocol had to happen. It will decide games and may even cost a GF.. but to much evidence now.

Absolutely disgraceful- the NRLPA boycott of Multi cultural round media launch. How selfish. So many kids had gone there to celebrate the launch with the players. So selfish and just further alienates the players from the kids. Clint Newton wants his seat on the board and will hold the game to ransom to get his golden ticket.

The Club is not firing at the moment. Needs to change quickly. 16 errors, 36 missed tackles and 66% completions is NOT acceptable.

Bench – what have we learned from last year. We were fatigued (and outplayed) in the GF and we didn’t have someone to come on (NBrown) that could help. We still don’t! Greig will never be good enough if he doesn’t get time. Now our recruitment must be responsible for leaving the coach in this predicament.

Why move Yates? Who exactly is cover for Hodgson? Is it Hands now? If we don’t have continuity in the lower grades how can anyone step up when needed? Are we a development club if we can’t identify and have the next player up.

Just hope Olakuatu has an off night. Because if he watched last week’s game we could be in for a bad outcome. I would like to start with Murchie a big body to match him.

    Go Eels !!

Thanks for the mention Gentlemen. Whilst I did have my bet on Reg, the three legged multi was a leg too far.

I am at a bit of a loss now for first try scorer. Time to give Junior some love? Can lightning strike twice? Eels to bounce back against the odds tonight in a close game they will get the two points in.
