This is Nathan Brown the coach. We catch up with him when we can for a junior rep update as he is the Elite Pathways Coaching Director and he’s well worth the listen. He’s very candid with his takes on performances.

Hey sixties love the podcast, what are your thoughts on news Simonsson has come in for Russell?
I feel like we should reward players for great trial performances, Im sure Russell would have got first crack last week if he wasn’t suspended and like most fans I’d say I was excited for him to get first shot at that wing spot.

Yes, my thoughts are all about disappointment for Sean. He had a cracking preseason and looked terrific in opposed alongside Will.

I spoke to Daejarn before last week’s game as he and Matto were mingling with the fans on the western side. He said a few weeks away from a return.

An observation is how one loss is blown out of proportion and not just by Parra fans. Long term predictions after round one is a mugs game.

Can’t make tonight’s game but confident a better showing from the halves will lead Parra to victory. RCG first try scorer. Sivo to score a double. Go Parra!

Shaun, Sivo is due for a try so a double might be on. RCG had a huge game last week. If the forwards reproduce last week’s effort, and if this grand final backline go better than they went last week there should be a win.

I had the mad multi. RCG first try. Sivo double. Parra win. I thought I had it. I thought I damn well had it. Stupid Eels.

Forty brings up the issue of the Bunker backing the on field referees. It is something I have thought for sometime.

At least as recently as last year or longer. Forty is onto something in my opinion.

Is there any explanation as to why Sean Russell has been replaced by Simonson. This given Simonson has played no trials?

Watching the Panthers last night I was watching the carries out of their own half. Up to about the 20 – 25 minute mark James Fisher Harris had made only 5 runs for 26 metres.

The carry metres were achieved by the backs and they did it well.

I noticed in the Sharks game last week the Bunnies pulled their left edge defence to pieces. Talaki was asked a lot of questions and kept coming up with wrong answers. Big games from Penisini and Doorey.

    The Eels to win.
