Well it’s the Cowboys again for the second time in 7 rounds. The North Queenslanders are playing fantastically well and are smashing everyone at home. Averaging 35 points at 1300 Smiles, they are the short priced favourites against the Eels who are averaging 16 points away. However, the Cowboys haven’t come up against a defence as focused or as disciplined as ours. Parra are in the zone right now.

This week the three main topics from Cowboys Stampede that I am going to share are the following

1. Parra vs Cowboys round 2
2. Parra vs Cowboys round 8
3. Other crap like living in Townsville

Round 2 Clash
You will recall that the round 2 clash didn’t really reach any great footballing heights, but we won our first game so that was huge. The Cows dropped a lot of ball and we were poor in attack.

The Cows fans rated their best players in order as Bolton, Coote, Lowe and Taumalolo. No one else received any votes.

• Bolton’s impact could have been the turning point if the boys could have held onto the ball. Lowe’s try was great work by both him and JT. I’m struggling to find anyone else to praise.
• Plenty of our guys with mistakes, but I think we really missed Morgo tonight..he went missing
• I think we couldn’t do anything in attack because we were too tired from defending so much from handing over the ball and conceding penalties.

• Maxwell was definitely the best for the Eels.
• Our handling was atrocious last night, I’d love to blame the refs for a couple of those obviously incorrect calls, but we didn’t give ourselves a chance anyway with the was we played.
• I still think Beau Scott is a punk. Smash those Parra Swifts
• We lose this and I can see Hindy have an absolute Field Day on The nex Matty Johns Show
• Semi taking more dives than the Italian soccer team.
• Yes we played poorly tonight but that didn’t lose us the game. The refereeing did, simple. Three tries off penalties. 11-4 penalty count. Ridiculous.
• I think us playing poorly definitely lost us the game. The referee’s just compounded it.
• Crap game from both teams tonight way too many errors. Ref’s decision basically sealed the match
• Semi dives at half-time Kenny Edwards scores. Semi dives at the beginning of the second-half Brad Takairangi scores. 11-4 penalty count. Eels got away with murder in the ruck.
  But hey even with the **** refereeing if we complete another 6 or so sets we win anyway.
• JT was ordinary tonight. Took the wrong option on a number of occasions which is rare for him. He just couldn’t get it done for us.

• Coach Green has said he likes the energy and laughs Kosty brings…How about hiring Carl Barron and promote a good footy player to the squad instead
• Parra did their homework on our attack and according rushed in on Morgan on most of the plays that went his way (he had no space to run). I put more blame on JT or whoever was passing it to Morgan because they should have had the vision to cut Morgan out to O’Neil (think this was done once and he scored off it). This season is going to be a big test for Morgan. I hope he is giving more of a license to roam as the season goes on because teams are figuring our attack out.

Round 8 Clash
With their brilliant form, particularly at home, the fans have become very confident.

• I got a feeling that Beau Scott is going to beat some of the boys to a pulp and Semi trying to act once again

• They’ve been “losing points” all season it seems. I’m going to stop caring about it untill something is made official.
• Quietest crowd in the comp. we have to learn how to draw penalties by getting into the refs like Sydney fans do

• I’ve never seen this forum so unfocused on the upcoming game which is surprising because it is actually our 2nd hardest game of the year. I notice a lot of people seem to really rate Junior Paulo atm whom I’ve never really payed attention to – so will have to take note of his performance. We have a really rough 4 games ahead of us with Manly away, Parra, Brisbane, and Melbourne in Brisbane with the test match in the middle as another distraction. 2 wins would be adequate, 3 would be great and 4 would be unbelievable.
• We were crap last time we played Parra but the Eels have improved since then too, they have the best defence in the comp at the moment, should be a good test for us.
• Last time we me, we were clunkier than my old VL Commodore.
• If we click, they won’t be able to handle us.
• I don’t particularly rate Parra. We had an absolute shocker last time we played them, and the ref’s were even worse. We’ll be looking to make amends, I expect us to win quite comfortably if we’re on our game.
• It is hard to see anything but a good, solid win here. Parramatta are a team on the up, playing with confidence, but are a long way from the finished article. They present a challenge no doubt, but there is nothing to suggest a sudden drop in form from our side.
• I expect an improved performance from our forwards, and perhaps a return to the starting side from Kostjasyn. I think the Parra forwards will tire significantly and we will benefit from a strong defensive start.
• Also, our right edge has proven to be particularly potent this year. We now have players in line for Origin spots. Takaraingi and Radradra had better be on their game, because they will be in for some heavy chop.

Other Crap

Interestingly, they ran a poll to ask what a lot of footy fans have been asking lately, particularly if you watch channel 9. Who do you prefer, Erin or Yvonne?

Yvonne won 22-1. Have to say Megan Barnard and Mel McLaughlin are further up my list.

• Just deleted a few posts. If you want to bicker with each other or ask to meet in person and threaten violence, do it via the PM system or better yet, don’t do it on here at all. Posts are getting out of hand on here lately, if people keep derailing threads and fighting like children I’ll have to start handing out bans, it makes the forum annoying to read for everybody else. Before you press the submit button ask yourself if you’re making a contribution to the discussion or if you’re derailing it for a personal vendetta.

He should get on 1EE and see what happens there ! No wonder the Cowboys forum is so BORING !!!!

Cowboys are pushing for a new stadium. This is their plan.

A golden horseshoe? Maybe they should relocate to north coast of NSW.

Feeling good about Parra tonight. We are a very consistent team these days.
