    Another Orr player…
    After the Arthur’s
    Brown
    Lane
    Materson
    Grieg
    Simmonson
    That only leaves Russell?
Something not quite right with this agency. Long past due to weed them out.

    1. Gary Haynes

Well Pete your a clown.Weed them out.Bailey Simonson is a gun.He is one of our strongest runners of the balls. We have no back up players. This guy should should be in starting team every week

Bailey clearly doesn’t want to be at the club. He’s asking for a release!
I was talking about weeding out the players of this agent.
Bailey and Sean have been the better ones from this agent. But “a gun” ? That’s an exaggeration.

I don’t get it? He just signed a3year deal last year so what’s happened in 6 months? We are losing so many players and signed JDB, our backs are so skinny it’s not funny.. JR may of done well this year , have to be better next year!!!! Very concerned.

From what we’re hearing Bailey has toured the titans facility’s and there is no way he would have been able to do that without the clubs blessing his on contract. There’s definitely more going on in the background to this. I think Ryles is really making some moves on some players like hands,Matterson and now Bailey his got something in his sights and he needs some pieces moved.
Bailey has been great in games at times but his also gone thru poor times aswell and is also becoming quite injury prone. He was really underwhelming at centre the last few games he played especially in defence. If he wanted to stay I wouldn’t complain but if they have identified something better I’m not standing in his way.

    1. Ray Zammit

I hope you’re right. , you made some good points about Bailey and his defence. He certainly no worldbeater I’ll just would be a bit more comfortable with this if we had a couple other signatures in the backline for next year.

Khan-Pereira had been told he can look around for another club.
Please make it at the Eels…
Can one imagine Addo Carr and Khan-Pereira on our flanks ???
We would have the fastest wingers on the planet.
Can you imagine the tries they would score ?
    Move Lomax back to centre.

    1. Tragiceel

Have you seen Kahn-Pereira defend? He is terrible, it is the reason he was dropped. Speed is great, but defence wins games.

      1. Spark

They keep saying similar things about JAC.
        Defence can be sorted out.
Pure speed always wins matches that’s why the Hammer at the Dolphins is such a match winner.

Can someone give me a good news Parra day? When was the last time woke up this morninnf. Meant to be a good day than this afternoon? Big Sam out of the year Sean Russell out for the year and Bailey wants out with no one coming in if anyone thinking the same

The boys say Bailey is a good lad. I have never met him, so i take their word for it and wish him all the best if he is on his way.
On the field he tried hard and played hurt which i completely respect and he will always have the 2022 Prelim Final which is far and away his greatest game. But realistically his defence was seldom up to scratch and he ran sideways a little too much for my liking (though he had improved that a little).

If Bailey triggered this move. So be it. He has been overlooked for Sean Russell (possibly for Samrani depending on which decision came first). I get being ticked off for being over looked for Russell when he thinks he is a first grader. Realistically if this club has aspirations of winning a comp any time soon, it isn’t with Bailey as a first choice starting centre. So if he can get a starting gig somewhere else, good luck to him.

If the Orr’s triggered it – I knew a few first grade/fringe first grade players (not Eels) that the Orr’s represented 20 years ago and they screwed them over. They should have been removed from the game 2 decades ago.

If Ryles triggered this move. So be it. He is putting his money where his mouth is if he doesn’t think a player fits the clubs future. But the number leaving is a lot greater than those coming in. It’s a big risk letting all these players walk and, so far, no one who makes the squad better is coming back the other way. I sure hope he has a plan because he is putting a lot of faith in player managers and MON to get deals done.

As for the remainder of the year. I can see 60’s being right and Brown slotting into centre if Samrani struggles or there is another injury. I kind of thought he already would have – but that’s only because i would have thought we would move on from both Russell and Bailey, and a disinterested Brown is no worse than a fully fit Russell/Bailey..

Really disappointing if Simonson leaves, was fun to watch in his return from ACL last year and was arguably our best player before he was injured last year.

Looking at free agents for next year in the centres the only real options that might be good are mawene hiroti at the sharks who was actually carving up well earlier this year at left centre and Tommy talau who is great but I’ve heard he’s close to a 4 year extension.

Given that’s the case I’d love ryles to maybe take the gamble and throw Richie into the deep end, would be tough but being on a defensive edge with Williams inside him and the fox outside him would have to help abit.

Simonson was also currently our backup winger but I think Dunster could go great with a 1 year extension, has had heaps of issues with injuries but has been immense in cup when healthy. I doubt a year extension to see what he can get back to would hurt considering there isn’t much to sign that I think would be overly better (especially at the price you could probably get him).

    1. Sebastian Brown

Would also love to see what Volkman would look like in the halves with Moses, is one of those halves that have a style that isn’t fully a 6 or 7 which I think can work well with Moses and his type of attack in 7.

    2. Tragiceel

I would be wrapped if we got Hiroti. He is the centre we should be going after. Great attacking player with solid defence. Just what we need.

  8. 57 years an Eel

    This isn’t bad news.
He had a few good games in the centres last year but has mostly not got the defensive structure needed to win games.
Let’s see what JR has in the pipeline.

  9. Brett Allen

Not surprised. I don’t think he was in Ryles’ plans. He was clearly behind Penisini & Russell.

  10. BDon

Tks men. There were signs that Simmonson was in the new era(by being out), my guess was that Ryles was starting to press the button on Richie Penisini’s inclusion in the experiment. Simmonson gave good service, but for injury the Richie P story may well have been past the introduction now.
Just a sidebar to the Tigers’ reverse bird. I checked out the camera shot from behind the players into the Bulldogs fans. It only lasted for a couple of seconds but I reckon 90% of them are laughing, which reflects what they want their football team to be, not sensitive petals.

  11. JokerEel

Bailey isnt fast enough or has a jump that would make him an elite winger. He also isn’t a centre. I think it’s good for him to move on.
I don’t see how he can be headed to the Titans especially if their salary cap is in bad shape by reports..

Another thing is why have we been signing players up recently and then letting them leave.. Hands resigned last year along with Simmonson.

They resigned Volkman Mateale Latu who will most likely never get another go in first grade.
