The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

The Parramatta Eels came out of Round 12 with hugely conflicted feelings. On the one hand they swept their bitter arch-rivals in the Sea Eagles across the NRL, NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg. That euphoria was heavily undercut by the news that Lachlan Galvin had made the decision to defect to the Bulldogs. The Tip Sheet tackles the good and the bad to come out of the week that was for the Eels as Sixties, Forty20 and Chris Ricketts go live on Team List Tuesday.
How does Galvin’s decision impact Canterbury? That thought experiment will dominate the NRL news with reports about the futures of Reed Mahoney and Toby Sexton already causing stirs. Throw in a fiery confrontation between Phil Gould and Michael Chammas on 100% Footy and the question is getting asked – will this destabilise the top of the table Dogs?
The show rounds out with some sundry NRL news and the latest from both State of Origin camps ahead of Wednesday night’s clash.
The Tip Sheet will be live from 7:30PM!

“My mission is to win a premiership, winning isn’t a solo game, l’ve played alongside few of the premiership winning players but that doesn’t make me feel comfortable, it’s better to be on the better side, a team that share’s responsibility rather than struggling every weekend to get the results. Moving to Bulldogs under Gus guidance is something that I’ve been thinking for a very long time!” – Galvin
It doesn’t sound like this kid was probably ever coming to parra. We got used up to take the smoke trail off Gus’s tail it sounds like?
Interesting comments made by Galvin. I don’t think the Bulldogs have won an end of season game since 2015.
He is very young and drank Gus’s kool aid it sounds like
Toby Sexton, poor bloke probably feels like chopped liver
If that quote is actually attributed to Galvin, it’s been written by his manager or the Bulldogs media unit. No 19 year old footy kid speaks like that.
Agree 100%
Personally I’m glad we didn’t sign Galvin. He’s managed by Moses and agitating a release early season as a 19 yr old – pls. C’bury can have him. We only want players who put our club first.
I’ve got faith in Ryles but less faith in our retention group as well.
As soon as bulldogs got involved we all knew mark oniel wouldn’t be able to close a deal with Galvin – Isaac Moses has him by the balls every negotiation. The only decent deals O’Neil closes re: recruitment are when others have handed them to him on a platter (fox, walker). Brad got Lomax over the line. Williams was seeking a bigger opportunity. But when there’s proper competition for a player parra are never really competitive. And that starts in the front office
Ron is that only because of O’Neil though?? On 360 they hinted about 3rd party deals some clubs offer.
It sounds like we don’t do that. So we have a distinct disadvantage.
Galvin family probably ends up wealthier at the dogs on 250k less than at eels due to Laundy 3rd party back door opportunity’s offered to him or his family.
The 360 guys only touched on it lightly to avoid legal issues, but are the dogs beating the cap with 3rd party kick backs?
I don’t know if it’s as simple as blaming MON. Our club might be doing everything legit while clubs like the dogs and easts can offer players a slew of opportunities outside of football that we simply cannot?
That’s pure speculation about what 3rd parties he got. And, in any event, our club doesn’t seem to do enough around 3rd parties – go need them to win the premiership. Melbourne etc use them well to their advantage yet we are behind the ball like most things front office.
It’s not just about Galvin either – oneil/recruitment team have been played like a fiddle by certain player managers over the last few years
Bingo!
Milo the kid has a lot of red flags and is a high risk signing
It could end up being a blessing in disguise that he didn’t come up us
Just like Blaize going to panthers and us getting Iongi who’s a superstar fullback in comparison
Muz, I was 50/50 about him tbh. When i see who he’s managed by it concerns me. I also need to say our retention group had ample time to snag this one too….but we do not want players who are not invested.
Ryles has purchased some good young kids and we just need some added players with some experience to balance this out for me.
I can honestly say now I genuinely think we have dodged a bullet with this kid. His practically shown total disregard for his current club to sign with the team coming first mid season for the opportunity to win a premiership. His done none of the hard work that those guys have gone thru all pre season and start of the season to get to were they are on the table and he walks in rd 14 and thinks he deserves a shot a title. I think it speaks volumes of his character. Has a player ever derailed a season for two clubs in one year? I think it could be on the cards?
I now hold Gould in the same regard as Gary Cook, Greg Hartley and Manly (for destroying Wests by buying their best players). I actually thought Gould was good for the game until now. I will now watch no shows or games that he is involved with starting with SOO.
Galvin now says he has wanted to be under Gus’s guidance for a long time yet Gus says he has not spoken to Galvin. Give me a break. As my Grandmother used to say “If you told that to a horse it would kick your head in”
Another misguided theory — it’s always convenient to blame the usual scapegoats.
For what it’s worth, Moses reportedly called our chairman on Sunday trying to squeeze more money out of us. And let’s be clear, the Bulldogs didn’t just enter the race last week.
There’s a reason why, when the story first broke and the media were only mentioning Parramatta, those in the Tigers camp were pointing to the Bulldogs — they already knew what was happening
Quick side note here fellas and one to keep an eye on:
Iongi’s been caught up in cheating allegations, girls sharing private conversation text messages all over tiktok. Iongi’s social media now has all photos of his girlfriend removed as she’s likely left him.
Hopefully those off field issues do not affect Iongi’s performance or form. He played his best game for us VS manly last week.
If there’s one thing in RL, expect the unexpected, there’s always twists & turns.
Let’s hope the main stream NRL media doesn’t get all over this – it will affect the parramatta eels negatively. 🫣
Do we really need to give player personal stuff more publicity on this site?
Who cares he is 21 and has had a break up I’m sure the kid will move on.
A scandal is Dyl Brown on the dance floor not this.
Maybe the mainstream media get their stories from reading fan sites!!
Yeah I agree Y , it’s real teenage girl stuff to be worried about this.
Agreed – it’s none of our business what happens in someone else’s relationship and shouldn’t be posted on this site.
What do you mean, it’s been viewed by hundreds of thousands of people on TikTok which is the largest social media site for younger people.
It’s hardly a secret when half a million viewers see it in the first two days.
You are a fool if you think that something being seen by the masses is somehow a secret.
Different if nearly a million people now hadn’t seen it all over social media.
I’m glad his personal life is that important to you that you feel the need to share it on a normally very positive fan site.
Yep im sure thousands of teenages are across it on TikToky
A secret! Pffftt
Who cares,
I don’t think he will be the first or the last to break up with a girl friend at 21.
So yep maybe I’m a “fool” for not give a toss about his personal life
I have strong mail we are lining up a huge bid for Preston. Nov 1 we can talk. My mail is strong. Would be a great pick up
Contracted to the end of 2027, would be massive to get him out of dogs can’t see them letting him go though, Ciraldo loves him.
Great show again fellas.
Sixties, I hope your mum and family have better days ahead. All the best to you too Craig.
My wife wanted to give you a big hug last night, I told her I’m sure we’ll meet Craig one day and you’ll get your chance then.
I have a new found respect for Chamos, I really hope Gould has finally bitten off more than even his big mouth can chew.
I am sorry if you have mentioned something about this in your podcasts since I have not be able to watch them … but what is the go with Dunster? Not on the injury list and cannot string more than 2 games together this year despite being in great form when on the field.
Interesting to read today that Galvin was on $250k this year and $350k next year. He now goes to $750k pa (plus whatever?). So is this all about being concerned about development or not earning what the market will pay? If the latter, you just claim the former and engineer a contract release?A 19 year old probably does not conceptualise, plan and execute this without help and ‘advice’ from adults. The hyped 19 year old No 6 on $250k might well look at the No 7 on $1million and be easily convinced there are greener pastures.
