Game two of the double header from Kellyville as the Jersey Flegg face the Sea Eagles for the second straight week. With the NSW Cup prevailing earlier, can the Flegg follow them up?

First Half

Tag as I take over from Forty for the Flegg game.

Eels kick off running to the north end.

Teams trade sets getting to their kicks. A penalty to Parra gets them their best opportunity but it all comes unstuck with a mid count error.

Manly start this set around halfway. Good defence from Parra and Manly put in an ordinary last tackle kick that’s easily fielded just inside the quarter.

Eels penalty.

Neemia into open spaces off a ball by Pryke. Talataina backs up. Try time.

Lynn converts.

Eels 6 lead Manly nil after about ten minutes (no clock here).

Parra run it on the last in the set after points and it comes to an end 25 out. Manly penalty. Last tackle 20 out and the kick is caught in goal. Seven tackle set.

Down to the red zone with fast positive play. Left side shift and Talataina screams through a gap in the defence and sprints for the prize. What a start for the SGBall graduate!

Lynn converts

Eels 12 Manly 0 after about 15 minutes

Strong work from Neemia and Spence to take Parra to Manly’s red zone by the last in the set after points. A good defensive set follows and Manly’s kick barely gets into Parra’s half. Big Damascus Neemia again! The Eels prop powers onto the ball on the left edge and he’s off for the prize himself this time.

Lunn adds the extras

Eels 18 Manly nil after around 20 minutes.

Eels error from the kick off.

Manly with the scrum win ten out. The Eels defend well but the last tackle kick from Manly is a ripper as it finds their left winger who catches the ball and dives over for the try.

Conversion is perfect

Eels 18 lead Manly 6 after about 23 minutes

Manly get to their kick and the Eels invite them back into the game again with a play the ball error. An offside penalty follows.

The Sea Eagles make them pay as a left edge play sees the runner poke his head through the defence and release a ball in the tackle to his support for a try in the corner.

Conversion hooks left.

Eels 18 lead Manly 10 after about 28 minutes

Another penalty to Manly in the set after points as the Eels discipline falls to shreds.

Manly go close in the right corner. They centre the play towards the post on the fifth and grubber on the left edge on the last but there’s too much juice in the kick. Seven tackle set.

Lynn chip kicks in goal on the last and it earns a drop out. Manly go long.

Geez Manly defend this set well as Parra ask plenty of questions. Talataina especially looking dangerous.

Manly put in an inch perfect kick on the last. Fuller lets it run but it pulls up just inside the line and he’s trapped in goal. It’s a costly call as Manly get over for a soft try.

This match has completely changed complexion as the visitors have made Parra pay for each of their errors.

Eels 18 lead Manly 16 just before half time.

Manly lose their way on the last tackle and are lucky to escape with a half decent kick. Eels get into Manly’s red zone and get a lucky six again after some desperate offloads get a touch from Manly. They waste it with a wayward pass.

Eels start their next set 35 out from their last. Jack Hudson is on and he splits the defence. He finds Lynn in support 20 out and Lynn is rounded up by the cover but big Isaac Jim arrives in support and gallops away to score beside the posts.

Half Time – Eels 24 lead Manly 16

Eels complete their first set and Manly reply in kind with a kick to Parra’s 30. Hudson with another scurry this set. High kick on the last but the Manly fullback does well to catch it ten out. A good defensive set allows Parra to start the next set around half way. Down to Manly’s quarter. Great run from Summer and now Pryke links with Lynn who breaks the line, throws the dummy to beat the last defender and runs the ball to the posts for the try.

Lynn converts

Eels 30 lead Manly 16

Parra get to the kick in the set after points and it’s a high bomb. Manly let it bounce and Summer swoops. They bring him down in front of the posts. Hand over. Manly cough it up about 40 out late on their set.

Eels back to the red zone and looking dangerous. Pryke is having a day out. To the last and they run it. The ball comes left and Paul steams onto it cutting through defenders and diving over for the try.

Lynn misses the extras

Eels 34 lead Manly 16 after 49 minutes

Manly force an error from the kick off. The Eels dispute it to no avail. Six again and the Eels are under pressure in their quarter. Big right shift and the winger is put into space close to the line. The cover gets a push on him and he might have dropped the ball diving over. No the officials say it’s all good.

Eels 34 Manly 20 after 52 minutes

Manly get to their kick which finds touch 30 out.

An Eels error on the 40 and this all feels familiar. Manly get in an awkward kick on the last but Parra cleans it up. A bomb from Lynn on Parra’s last but the fullback catches it 30 out. Manly penalty now.

Manly throw up a high kick and Parra lets them catch it. Some desperate offloads follow and they are eventually held ten out. Eels penalty for a high shot on half way. Down to the ref zone now. Great short ball from Lynn to Lokeni for the try but it’s called forward!

Manly error on their 20. Parra back on the attack and play quickly comes left to Talataina. He gets ambitious with a wide pass to Alameddine but it floats well wide of him and over the sideline.

Forward pass from Manly 35 out from their own line. Good position for Parra and they set a scrum near the left wing. Bog right shift from the scrum but Manly handle it. Into the quarter and Pryke is millimetres from scoring beside the posts. Left from Hudson to Lynn and he goes for a gap beside the ruck and slices through for the try. He converts his own try.

Eels 40 Manly 20

Manly kick out on the full from the kick off but it’s ruled a contested kick. Parra make an error early in the set.

Good kick and chase from the last tackle kick and the kicker catches his own kick but the Eels bring him down ten out. Another error from Parra and a six again then comes Manly’s way.

Left side shift yields dividends as Manly narrow the margin with a try in the corner. Conversion is wide and short.

Eels 40 lead Manly 24 inside the last five minutes.

A series of calls going Manly’s way following the kick off and they are peppering Parra’s line. Cut out ball to the right winger but Parra are awake to it and drive him into touch.

Parra turn it back over 20 out. Manly grubber to the in goals and force a line drop out. Parra goes long. Manly cough it up mid set and Alameddine snatches it and goes for a quick dash. He’s tackled and the siren sounds one play later.

Full time Eels 40 defeat Manly 24

    Thanks for update sixties, good win ,is Isaac Jim, Parramatta local.,as good as young Galvin might be ,after WATCHING our young half’s are not worried if don’t get him, myself
