The Tip Sheet previews Parramatta’s Round 12 clash against the Manly Sea Eagles with both teams impacted by State of Origin. Sixties and Forty20 discuss how the Eels can overcome the losses of Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax and whether another debut is on the cards.
The NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg also take on the Sea Eagles with the Flegg facing the exceedingly rare circumstances of meeting their opposition in consecutive weeks. Graduates from the SG Ball are now entrenching themselves into the Under 21s and the boys look at how the team is faring in this transitional period.
News out of Parradise surrounding a long-rumoured quartet of re-signings is also on the docket while Sixties breaks down the latest developments in the Lachlan Galvin situation as he and the Wests Tigers accelerate towards a parting.

Nice share there sixties about what jnr said to you mate. We love to hear the little details like that sometimes. I’m personally a big fan of Jnr, especially since the leadership and great effort he has shown for us this season.
For anyone who’s critical of Paulo, go back and watch highlights of our games every week. You can bet every game Paulo does a tough run, gets an offload, we score off the back off that initial effort Jnr puts in.
I hope there’s a great turn out for Jnrs 250th game. I personally feel like every time Paulo has a good game we tend to win! Hopefully big juunz has a blinder!
Guys regarding manly: Jake Arthur hates kick pressure as he kicks good but is a bit slow. I want to see Ryley smith up in his face for every kick. If we can close space on manlys kicks, and play very physically, I think that’s how you play to beat manly.
A LOT of manly players only look a million dollars when the game isn’t very physical. You have to bash guys like Saab, Garrick, even turbo, Jake Arthur a little. Their sweeping attacks and confidence usually slows down once a team plays them very physically.
The sharks played very physically against manly a few weeks ago and easily beat them. Once manly is physically beaten a little, their ball spreading flare and confidence almost disappears. They are a confidence team. They are better this year but still flat track bullies in my view.
I felt like with some attack (e.g if Moses was playing), we probably could have come close to beating them last time @ manly. And we were absolutely rubbish back then in terms of attack.
(Hopefully) eels by 13+ 🤝
We must be watching different games Muz. The first three games Paulo wasn’t sighted. He had had just two or three good games this year. For our most senior player he has been very disappointing. Look at Gol’s game gradings. The same can be said for Dylan Brown. $13 million puts him in the category of a bushranger. This has not only affected the team but also himself. Nevertheless we have some talent coming through and if this season is a write off then it is good experience for them. If we can get through origin with those two Momax then we can turn our season around. This year it is so even Parra can do a 2009. But a lot of things have to go right and the biggest one is injuries.
Zero I agree Jnr started off slow.
Watch the games we’ve won or watch a lot of tries we get.
There’s jnrs involvement in many cases.
I think we must also at least give Jnr some credit, the days he’s played decently we’ve won. We can’t expect prime jnr performances on a weekly basis as his age to be fair.
Statistically props peak between age 26-28 from memory. Jnr is 31 years of age.
The whole team started slow, Junior was hardly alone there. This has been his best season so far since 22
Easily his best in years Brett and his doing it alone in terms of being a Snr specialist prop.
Before he could play behind RCG’s classic first hit up, and the few other big bodies we had in the rotation to share the middle work. He is essentially the only Snr specialist in our 17 each week who’s got size.
Was thinking the same thing Muz. These days line speed equals physicality, move up quickly and scramble their decision making…if you can also consistently hit them hard that’s the icing on the cake. The trouble is that the other team know it as well. Without DCE they might be vulnerable and Turbo looks like one good hit seems to get him limping. Haumole O is a concern but cutting down his time seems to bring errors. They do have a few speed men, so the whole game plan will have to be about restricting space, and persistence. Maybe I don’t see him play much, but I thought Hawkins had a cool head and decent kicking game which is needed to play a big part.
Bdon I agree and if you look at the team leading the comp, they probably have the best end of set to kick chase strategy in the game.
Bulldogs do not have the speed or fancy ball playing of say manly or the Storm but are winning the comp and look clearly the most consistent so far.
I’m not suggesting we are close to executing it like they do, but I feel that if parra can win in those effort areas, the flashy X factor plays go back into the pocket of the opposition as they feel the pressure and have less time to make decisions.
I felt like last manly game our physicality was decent. You can’t sit back on manly. Jake Arthur is not DCE and he will probably make some poor kicks and passes if Ryley smith is up in his face.
I would like to say we win this game but every time I say that we lose. 😂 I’m just hoping we see those effort areas worked upon, and hopefully we see a good game.
If we play stupid and the line speed is slow / lazy, manly will spread the ball and target Sean Russel and Tuilagi all game (you can bet), and we would probably lose in this scenario. Where’s I think we stand a chance if we front load our efforts on limiting their space. And like you said, we have to be physical on turbo. He doesn’t look 100% healthy and is apparently managing injuries or niggles.
Should be a winnable game and especially being at home. We’ve played a lot without Moses lately and although at times looked horrible we have had some moments without him. Manly rarely ever play without DCE and they also have Jake out there other leader. It takes time to adjust sometimes playing without a player like him his very influential on there football. Take turbo out and I would say both teams are bang on even but with turbo but he looks about 70% fit so parra are definitely a big shot here
Parra 90 we just need to hope turbo doesn’t try to turn it into a origin game 2 audition .. 🤣
Hopefully he is hobbling, at 50%, and ideally injured early in the game. lol
We just need to all perform at our level and stuff Manly. You only need to watch how the Dolphins played last night – direct / physical and make your tackles. We will miss Moses kicking and need Hawks to deliver here.
