The Tip Sheet – 2024 Ep 8: Eels Roll Out The Big Guns

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

The Parramatta Eels switch gears in the final hit-out of the preseason as the club names a full strength line-up to take on the Gold Coast Titans. Sixties, Forty20 and Clint dissect the 22-man team sheet including who has their noses in front across a number of positional battles.

Across the NRL we saw some big injuries and suspensions from the first week of trials. The boys look at the headliners on both fronts as well as the big takeaways from a series of lopsided matchups.

South have already left for Vegas as they look to steal a march on their rivals in the new American market. Will it work for them? The show wraps up with a peek across the Northern hemisphere where the Super League is making a significant change to what constitutes a high tackle. Will we see the same changes in the NRL?

Should the Eels play a game in Vegas in the coming years, will the TCT Instant Reaction team be there to give a summary?

Given that the current US contact is for 5 years. PVL might be thinking that he will have 20 teams by the end of the contract and all teams will get a game.

John, the Eels didn’t rush to be an early participant. For mine, this was a sound decision. In the first year or two there are bound to be teething problems or kinks to be ironed out.
As for an American jaunt, I reckon Forty and Clint would be all over it. Forty loves his American sport and Clint has enjoyed his travels around the USA.
