Parramatta Eels 2024 Junior Representative Squads – Photo Gallery And Draws

Following the conclusion of the 2024 preseason and trial schedule, the Parramatta Eels have announced their final squads for the upcoming NSWRL Junior Representative season.

This year’s program has been expanded to four grades, with the Lisa Fiaola Cup (under 17) moving from four rounds to a full season with a finals series. The female pathways now parallels the male grades with under 17 and under 19 competitions.

All grades commence on the weekend of February 3/4, and consist of nine regular rounds, followed by a finals series.

In 2023, the Eels qualified for finals football in all three grades, winning the SG Ball title. The Lisa Fiaola Cup won all four scheduled matches in overwhelming fashion.

Once more, and with thanks to Parra Leagues, The Cumberland Throw will provide live blogs of four grades of junior representative football every weekend. If circumstances or the schedule prevents a full match description blog of any grade, we will have score updates.

Congratulations are extended to each of the following players for their selection in their respective teams. Some are new to the Eels system, whilst the majority are progressing through the age groups or from development squads. We also extend a thanks to those players who participated in the preseason and trials and were on the cusp of selection. Your efforts add to the quality of the training and preparation of the teams. We wish you well in future selections.

Forty is working on one for those in the NRL squad. We won’t do one at this level as it’s unfair to single some out at this stage of their development. The season will reveal what it reveals.

Great to finally have the juniors rep squads named. We’ve done a lot of external recruitment for the SG Ball, from what I can quickly make out 12/30 are external recruits. Good to see so many returning names for the Tarsha Gale squad, a few strong performers from last year I did not realise we’re a year young. Looking forward to learning more about the Matts and Fiaola teams throughout the season.

There are eleven players from the Guildford Owls in this year’s Harold Matthews squad (eight from 2023s under 16s division 1 team; and 3 from its under 15s division 1 team). I’m sure Brett Kenny would be ecstatic. Does he know about this? Well done to his former junior club.

Thanks for sharing those details. Guildford would be proud of this. Besides the great Bert, there was a group of players that were graded from Guildford out of the same team in the 60s that all went on to first grade – Billy Richards, Bob O’Reilly, and Lenny Stacker.

It’s like receiving eleven Academy Award nominations, including that for Best Picture. And the winner is – Go the Guildford Ow(ee)ls!
