Hi you were talking about South Sydney having a relationship with Kareeba Park in Qld.

The Roosters have a similar arrangement with Bateau Bay High School. I say similar without knowing the details of either arrangement but it looks similar from the outside.

Milo is familiar with this school and maybe he is able to give some background.

John, I suspect it’s placing students at the school rather than getting first choice of students playing there. The latter would surely not be allowed from either a government school or under junior rules.

      Evening John and Sixties
I will find out more what I can but I can assure you both that the HS is for seniors only (yr 11-12). The school from I was told also has an office for Roosters staff and the Roosters also pumped cash into the grounds – two decent looking ovals for training etc.
I will see what I can find out.
You both would know that this is a smart move by Easts as the coast is growing in some areas and Footy has been here for yrs.
I will ask the boss more abt the relationship here.

I’d sign Curran. He has a harder edge to his game – something our club lacks since Marata left. We showed in cup our forward depth was not good enough. We don’t have enough competition for spots and some forwards are complacent. We’ve got 2 giant five eighths. I’d look at freeing up Matto as value v money doesn’t add up. His attitude based on last year needs improvement.

We need a strong Centre! And Fast wingers!
Russell is developing still – Roger Fabri sprint coach should be employed. Dunster fingers 🤞

Tracey and Smith would be good! Surely we have money to spend.

Gutho will be slower after yet another knee injury.

Sivo will not survive a full season; injury and suspension. Who replaces him? His yardage is poor and doesn’t bend the line anymore. He can score from 10m out but any further he struggles.

We all know what we need better defence, more speed/fitness and strategy to our recruitment! Unless, these items are addressed we will be failing again in 2024!

Morgan ‘Soul Glo’ Harper has officially signed. We are set. The X Factor. No train and trial, he is ours for 2024.

  4. Tony Marsh

So we have Morgan Harper announced no Connor Tracey!
Is there still hope to get Tracey or is Harper our big outside back signing?
    Cheers,
    Tony

They were both targets. I don’t think the signing of Harper will have any bearing on whether Parra can sign Tracey. It might not happen but it won’t be impacted by Harper.

I said what I said about our recruitment. It’s never been a reflection on the player more a case of what the club needs etc.
But once they are in the Blue and Gold I support them.
    Morgan Harper on the positives
    1. 25 years
    2. 185cm
    3. 95kg (would like another 5-6kg)
    4. Was occasionally 2nd fastest behind Saab (before Koula). He may turn out to be one of our fastest?
So there are some reasons to hope.

He just needs to fix his defence as does the entire squad. Defence is at least half of the game we are losing that half in most instances.

Hearing Olam may go to Tigers? So he might be convinced that Parra is a better fit?

Smith and Tracey would add a huge difference to the squad..

      1. Milo

        Sixties can I jump in?
I would prefer someone else rather than Addo Carr, I’m concerned he’s not the best fit for us…yes he has pace and think we need a younger type player who has tasted NRL but needs a good start. Just my view.
Billy Smith is who I’d like as centre – give him the coin.
I feel Addo Carr has made some errors with Koori game and we need guys who will be in 3-5 yrs time
