Sixties, Forty20 and Clint are back in the newsroom this week as The Tip Sheet talks the latest NRL and Parramatta news. Injury has struck the NRL and NRLW squads once again with Mitchell Moses and Elsie Albert both out for the rest of the season. After injury ravaged seasons for both squads it is a brutal final blow and the boys look at what injuries have cost the Eels in 2023.

Team List Tuesday brings a spicy twist to the NSW Cup squad. The Eels are showcasing the next generation with Richard Penisini, Matt Arthur and Sam Tuivaiti making their Cup debuts alongside fellow youngsters in Arthur Miller-Stephen, Joshua Lynn, Charlie Guymer and Jontay-Junior Betham-Misa. It adds a huge incentive to see the curtain raiser on Friday but Sixties thinks there could be more at play for 2024 here.

It is Daniel Anderson round in the NRL as the game rallies around one of their own. Clint shares his own insight into Anderson from their time together at the Eels before the boys look at his wider impact in the game.

There has been some stunning contract news in the game this week as Tevita Pangai Junior suddenly announced his retirement from the game to take up…boxing? Wait what is going on here? The boys take a cynical view on this bizarre twist.

It isn’t the only crazy development this week with the Titans re-signing Tino Fa’asuamaleaui for a whopping 10 years. Payne Haas is also set to re-sign for the Broncos but for a far more reasonable 3 year extension. It sparks a big conversation about where the NRL is heading with marquee contracts and just who might be the first 2 million dollar man in the code.
