The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!
A special edition of The Tip Sheet focuses on premiership push of the SG Ball in 2023. Sixties and Forty20 are joined by Nathan Brown to take a final look at the journeys of the Tarsha Gale and Harold Matthews before taking a deep dive into the SG Ball ahead of their big game against the Newcastle Knights.
The trio look at how the Eels won fast and physical games against the Western Suburbs Magpies and Canberra Raiders in sudden death conditions and what that means for this coming Saturday. However, win or lose for the Eels in the big dance 2023 is far from over for these young men. Jersey Flegg and more lies beyond as the show looks at what graduation from the Junior Representatives means.
Sixties and Forty20 then go through player-by-player, position-by-position in an exhaustive look at the 17 young men who will leave it all on the line this weekend. The breakout stars, the pleasant surprises and the players who have worked their backsides off to feature in the grand final – it is all covered in this episode of The Tip Sheet!
Really hope we get the win in SG Ball. We need to start to develop a winning culture at the club and what better way than the up and coming junior grades.
Pete, there is always a philosophical debate about the main goal of junior reps programs. Is it to win titles or to develop NRL players? Maybe it doesn’t need to be mutually exclusive, but the decision one way or the other does shape whether a rep team wins a title or not.
Thanks Sixties, if we look at the Panthers success it has flow on effects and that would be very much celebrated.
The other thing Pete is that this year has seen all three teams qualify for finals and in the girls space, the Lisa Fiaola Cup went undefeated in their four matches. Basically, you can see that there are good groups of players following through in the next age.
Nice work TCT; hope they can get up this wkend. And worth a listen. We just need to ensure we keep the quality kids coming up and also in key positions. Well done
Cheers Milo and of course our thanks to Nathan Brown.
