One of the wildest weekends in years keeps on giving for The Cumberland Throw as the Parramatta Eels blaze an unprecedented path to the NRLW Grand Final after executing the mother of all upsets today. Sixties and Forty20 hit record for a truly special instant reaction episode of The Tip Sheet following Parra’s 24-10 victory over the previously undefeated Sydney Roosters.
Coach Dean Widders played a masterful hand, timing Parramatta’s charge and guiding his youthful team expertly. His leaders and core players responded in kind and the young and talented players across the team showed they weren’t overawed by the grand stage or their formidable opposition.
The Parramatta Eels are now the first club since the 2018 Roosters to be represented in the same season NRL and NRLW Grand Finals and the first in the 6-team NRLW era. Next Sunday now awaits as one of the most unique and special opportunities for the Eels that you are likely to see!
Great points guys.
Great game today.
Just so happy for the girls who fought hard to get to the big decider.
Go Eels!!
That’s the thing Pete. They fought and kept fighting. Did the Roosters not think they’d be in for such a fight. They’ve got plenty of time to think about it now.
They were wonderful- absolutely wonderful!
Special shout out to Abby Church who played an absolute blinder !
Loved watching the game – just hope our captain and our most inspirational players isn’t ruled out with suspension !
I don’t believe they have anything to worry about.
What a mighty performance..The Club is on a high at the moment, with plenty of momentum. The Knights and Panthers won’t be easy. Nothing great is easy…Glad to be playing the best. To be the best, you must beat the best…
Very true Parra Pete.
A great game and well done to the ladies! Anything the men can do they can do as well. As you noted in the pod, it is not a long season and credit to Dean and the team for learning their lessons quickly. As per Parra’s inspirational captain, “Fuck.”
These girls just love playing for each other. That’s a strong foundation to have that belief in the others in your squad.
What a cracking game. Is there any way we can get Tayla Preston onto the bench for the mens team this weekend? She was sensational, where is Tayla from guys? Has she come through the pathways or brought in from elsewhere?
Sorry this reply has taken a while Clive, it’s been a busy day. She came to us from Wests Tigers in the Harvey Norman and was previously a Sharks pathways player. Hopefully we can hold on to her.
