The Tip Sheet – 2022 Ep 67: Special Edition, Live From The Blue & Gold Alliance Reunion

The Tip Sheet is also available on Spotify and iTunes!

Gee do we have a rip snorter for you today! The Tip Sheet had the incredible privilege to be posted up live from Jacks Bar & Grill in Parra Leagues Club as the Blue & Gold Alliance hosted their massive player reunion. With approximately 150 former players and staff members turning out, the day proved to be a spectacular success.

Sixties and Forty20 tucked themselves away in the corner where they were able to chat with a host of record holders and legends. The show starts with a trio who hold untouchable slices Parramatta Stadium history in David Perry, Steve Corradi and Tim Barnes and between those three we include an in-depth chat with Graeme Atkins who provides some wonderful perspectives on his career.

Jeffrey Emery carries the podcast through the midway point as some universal constants from that era of footy start to emerge. Finally the show concludes with two blockbuster interviews as Eric Grothe Senior and Ray Price join The Tip Sheet. The ‘Guru’ shows why he is one of the most popular players among an amazing peer group while ‘Pricey’ is every bit the straight shooter you would expect him to be.

Our thanks to Blue and Gold Alliance Chairman Bill Richards for providing us with the opportunity to document this wonderful event.

Thanks Ray, we didn’t get hold of a guest list but we might still be able to give some feedback about those players soon.

Ray – Without going through an entire guest list of over 150 attendees, here’s some names (outside of those we spoke with) that were there.
Dennis Fitzgerald, Leo Toohey, Terry Leabeater, Ed Sulkowicz, David Liddiard, Neville Glover, Steven Edge, Giulio Pomponio, Kaysa Pritchard, Joel Reddy, Brett Kenny, Mick Cronin, Greg Drake, Peter Johnston, Vince Carr, Rod Collins, Gary Vernon, Mal McMartin, Kevin McFarlane, Mark Laurie, Ron Graham.
I believe none that you mentioned were there, but I hope some of these names bring back memories from across the grades and the decades.
