TCT continues to strive to connect fans with the Parramatta Eels and this week they have the pleasure of speaking to Matt Brady about junior rugby league in the Parramatta district.

Brady, the Parramatta Eels Pathways and Participation Manager for the Eels, walks Sixties and Forty20 through the junior footy catchment area for the blue & gold and exactly what sort of numbers and participation rates rugby league is producing out West. Even in the face of the COVID-19 setback the code is flourishing and the trio discuss the how and why of it.

The rise and rise of womens rugby league has captured the hearts of minds of the greater rugby league community. Western Sydney has seen explosive growth across all facets of youth ladies footy and Brady details exactly what is happening there and what is on the horizon.

Community and the connection between the Eels, their leagues club and the junior clubs is part of the go-home discussion. The fellas chat about the responsibilities of the PLC and how it impacts and facilitates junior footy in the district. From there they revisit the new representative pathways installed in 2021 and what is yet to come for the district moving forwards.

    Might be a dumb question ,but how did Mounties end up as a feeder club to anyone else but the Eels.

      its a senior club arrangement. The juniors are still Eels juniors. However, I don’t like it either.

        It stinks and boy does it need to change, it does and it needs to be sooner rather than later and that goes for all the rest like Cabramatta , etc,etc

          Importantly, there are so many good things happening with junior clubs in the district and we’re going to make it our goal to share that with our readers.
