The Tip Sheet – Round 20 Review

It was a tense finish to the regulation season but the Parramatta Eels secured a 3rd place finish heading into the finals on the back of a 28-24 victory over the Wests Tigers. The Eels spoiled the farewell party for Benji Marshall and Chris Lawrence on the back of 60-minutes of strong play – although they opened the door for an unlikely upset early with a poor start to the second half.

Junior Paulo was dominant in every facet of the game and Sixties and Forty20 take a look at what makes the big man so damaging for opposition defences. A swathe of late changes made by Brad Arthur are examined as the fellas breakdown the motives behind the moves and how the replacements handled the opportunity thrown to them. The form of Sivo and Moses is revisited for the third week in a row as TCT take a heat-check on where they stand heading into the finals before the boys wrap up the Round 20 review with a tirade about the set restart rules.

Clint is back! He runs his eyes over the imminent finals series for the Eels and just how it can play out for them, starting with a big one as Parramatta get ready to weather the Storm in Brisbane on Saturday.

Finally, Sixties and Forty20 close out the show with their own wrap on next week’s final. With Ray Stone and Marata Niukore due back and Dylan Brown also a possibility, the logistics of who to pick and where to play them gets a run as the boys try to assemble their strongest line-up to take down Parramatta’s bogey team in the finals.

A 75% win rate for the season is outstanding in a year like this. Time to reset and work towards three more wins.

Been watching Adam Keighran for a while now, scored 3 today . Ex panther, off contract. Centre ,5/8. Looks promising, any mail on him ?

Good discussion fellas; enjoyed it. Forty’s stats are good. Will be interesting to see how we approach next week; some subtle variances will be needed I think….i also think our spread attack across the field may be needed at times. Melb could be without Tui as well.
Do we know if Niukore will be ok? I assume Brown will not be avail.
