First Half

First try of the day to none other than William Kei. Well executed backline move sees him break the line and score down the left.

Try scored by Kei. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Eels lead 6-0

Wests hit back via some second phase play. It it their lock that ends up scoring but confusion reigns as Wests don’t celebrate the score and the ref takes considerable time before pointing to the spot.

Try scored by the lock. Conversion is successful by the five-eighth.

Score locked up at 6-all

John Paul Nohra gives the Eels the lead back after surging through in support up the middle. Great control of the ruck from the Eels in that set.

Try scored by Nohra. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Eels lead 12-6

Kei turns try-maker now. He breaks through from the scrum win and races down the left sideline. The cover chase closes in on him and he links up with josh Buomelhem who races to the posts to score!

Try scored by Boumelhem. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Parra lead 18-6

One of the updates got eaten by the site but the Eels lead 24-6 at half time!

Second Half

Boumelhem gets his second try of the day and again it comes from a scrum win. Hyrum Wichmann with the magic from inside though. Explosive step to create the 2-on-1 down the left-edge short side.

Try scored by Boumelhem. Conversion unsuccessful by Schneider.

Parra lead 28-6

Notch up another one for William Kei. Turned back inside by Wichmann there and streaks through a gap in the sliding defence. Pretty simple that one.

Try scored by Kei. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Eels lead 34-6

The triple double! Wellington Seve gets in on the two-score effort now as he crashes over from short range. Proving himself to be a real red zone threat both today and in the first half of the season.

Try scored by Seve. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Parra lead 40-6

Wests get on the board in the second half as their #19 reaches out to plant the ball down despite the attention of a defender on the goal line. Good effort from the Wests’ forward there.

Try scored by #19. Conversion unsuccessful by #6

Wests trail 10-40

Nohra joins the double club. He has been a constant presence up the middle pushing up in support and he is rewarded with the four points this time around. Great support play from the big fullback.

Try scored by Nohra. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Parra lead 46-10

Hat-trick for Kei! Lovely ball movement from the kickoff sees Kei make a break down the left sideline. He gets tackled 35m out but two tackles later he is in the right place to secure that third try off some lovely ball work by Dylan Brown.

Try scored by Kei. Conversion successful by Schneider.

Parra lead 52-10

Nearly one last try for the Eels on the back of an excellent break by Phillip ‘The Fridge’ Fanane but Wests scramble well to shut the break down.

First Half

A great run by Dresler sets up the Eels on the goal line and Travis Turnbull follows his lead three tackles later when he pins his ears back and hurls himself at the goal line defence. He twists and contorts through the contact to get the ball down. Great effort.

Try scored by Turnbull. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 6-0

The Human Wrecking Ball that is Tui Afualo makes it a two score lead for the Eels as he gets the ball on the back of a fast play the ball from Filia Utoikamanu and barrels down the left-edge short side to score.

Try scored by Afualo. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 12-0

A perfect grubber from Alex Seve is pounced on by Ethan Parry as he dives between two defenders in the in-goals. Terrific fifth-tackle footy there.

Try scored by Parry. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 18-0

Drinks break due to the sweltering conditions.

Great ball from Fonua sweeping down the left and great crash line from Ad\fualo there. Too much for the Magpies to handle and Tui gets his second try of the game.

Try scored by Afualo. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 24-0

Spectacular stuff from Dresler now. Makes a half bust straight up the middle and slips an outrageous offload to Josh Curran in support who guns it to the try line. Lovely try between two forwards.

Try scored by Curran. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 30-0

Light stepping from Alex Seve creates something out of no where. He runs the ball down the right but steps past 4 or 5 defenders back to the left, links up with Curran who in turn hits Turnbull with a short pass and Travis joins Afualo with the early double. Parra playing some good footy in the heat.

Try scored by Turnbull. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

36-0

How did they score that? Parra run it down their right on the last and Seve puts in a shallow grubber behind the line. Parry races through and regathers it and flicks it away to Haze Dunster in one motion and Dunster scoops it up off the ground to score. Heads up play from Parry who knew he was short of the goal line there.

Try scored by Dunster. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 42-0

Half Time

Parramatta Eels 42 lead Western Suburbs Magpies 0

Second Half

It takes the Eels six minutes to add to their score but they do it in wonderful fashion with a perfectly executed backline move down their left-edge. Turnbull and Fonua play the ball from the inside to create the space for Noel Auckafolau down the sideline.

Try scored by Auckafolau. Conversion unsuccessful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 46-0

Wests finally get on the board as they crash over next to the posts via their hooker.

Try scored by #9. Conversion successful by #7

Wests trail 46-6

Parra hit back immediately with a long range effort to Noel Auckafolau. Think Tui was the man that put him into space there. He actually gets run down a metre short but a display of great core strength sees him reach out and slam the ball down.

Try scored by Auckafolau. Conversion unsuccessful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 50-6

Drinks break due to the sweltering conditions.

Wests get their second try of the game as their dummy half darts in behind the ruck and hits their #8 with a short ball between two defenders under the posts. Referee has gotten very trigger happy against the Eels in the second half.

Try scored by #8. Conversion successful by #7.

Wests trail 12-50

Third try for Wests now, this one is scored by their #15 down our left-edge. Came on the back of a dubious penalty after it looked like the visitors lost the ball cold. Still, defence has let the young Eels down in the second half.

Try scored by #15. Conversion unsuccessful by #7.

Wests trail 16-50

Tui Afualo stems the bleeding as he careens through the defensive line from Parra’s half. Turnbull races up in support and the ‘Ginger Ninja’ notches up his hat-trick as the dives over under the posts.

Try scored by Turnbull. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Parra lead 56-16

Back-to-back scores for the Eels in the dying moments of this game! Michael Tupou has blown past some tired defenders and Haze Dunster races up inside him from no where to go the rest of the distance to score under the posts where Turnbull was not one minute ago.

Try scored by Dunster. Conversion successful by Turnbull.

Cheers for the updates forty! Just a fantastic website all round. I don’t mean to put the mock on the poor kid but to me JP nohra plays the fullback position very similar to Hayne outstanding talent

Nohra is really finding his feet in this team. Physically he looks to be an outstanding prospect for the position and as dessy points out above me, he still has areas to improve on which is really exciting.
