The Titans remain within striking distance of the top six and will look to strengthen their finals push when they face our Eels in Round 9 action this Sunday.
Gold Coast were in commanding form last week, cruising to a 22-4 triumph over the Dragons on the back of a Georgia Grey hat-trick.
Parramatta will take some confidence from their opening half against the Roosters, rallying from an early deficit to head into the break locked at 12-all with the defending premiers.
Unfortunately, the Eels were unable to sustain that pressure in the second stanza, conceding 44 points on their way to a 56-16 defeat. Only having 45% of the ball did not help their cause.

The Game
The Gold Coast Titans enter this clash brimming with confidence after a commanding 22-4 win over the Dragons, where their attacking structures shone. Their ability to build shape and repeatedly target the short side proved devastating, with Georgia Grey capitalising to score a hat-trick on the left edge.

Three try hero Georgia Grey
Just as impressive was their defensive work, particularly on kick returns, as they restricted the Dragons efforts in yardage, giving themselves consistent territorial advantage. However, their reliance on left-edge attack could make them predictable if Parramatta can effectively shut down that side of the field.
The Titans will also need to maintain their precision and discipline to stay on top against a physical Eels forward pack that thrives through the middle.
Parramatta, meanwhile, showed flashes of promise against the Roosters, going into halftime locked at 12-all with the defending premiers. Their two tries came through sharp execution up the middle, an area where they could trouble Gold Coast if they can generate momentum early.
The Eels also completed 81% of their sets last week, demonstrating composure and patience with the ball. Yet, their defensive frailties were brutally exposed in the second half, conceding 44 unanswered points as their structure and resilience faltered.
The Eels remain a team of promise that can’t quite capitalise on match days. Taneka’s Todhunter’s trademark scoots from dummy half continue to create opportunities, but her efforts seem to come undone at crucial moments. Fleur Ginn shows potential in the No. 6 jersey, while Mia Middleton was solid on debut. Martha Mataele remains a clear standout, continuing to grow in confidence and skill each week.

Elsie Albert and Rachael Pearson
Elsie Albert’s game remains a mix of highs and lows. Her powerhouse charges through the ruck are always difficult to contain but she has struggled with handling errors and defending fast paced attack. Look for her to bounce back to her best in this match.
Parra’s kick returns are a concern, only producing only 89 metres in last week’s loss, which continuously puts them on their back foot and unable to wrestle back control after momentum is lost.
Who will triumph – the Titans’ and their slick left-edge attack and stingy defensive structure or an Eels side capable of bursts of brilliance but still seeking consistency across 70 minutes?
Prediction: Eels by 4
Player of the Game: Elsie Albert
If Rueben can play the full 70, I’d rather carry Alo on the bench over Todhunter. Todhunter was serviceable last year but this season has only offered poor ball service. Happy to be proven wrong though
