Sorry mate when this page was first published today it didn’t have the links up straight away but was up when I came back and checked again

Ryles last week said he didn’t expect Matto to play NRL “anytime soon because of injury”
Didn’t Matto pull out last minute last time he was named in NRL? Because of this he has to come back through reserves. I think that’s a good call – Matto cannot just stroll back into a starting line up. Ryles is setting standards long overdue imho.

Welcome Walker- looking forward to him joining.

Brown – ill give him another chance. But if he doesn’t have a dig I’ll find it hard to put the pitchfork down

Pete hopefully Matto can get some decent mins under the belt and catch some form. If he can play like he did at the end of last season. A lot of speculation surrounding Matto. I don’t care just hope the fellah can play and catch some form. Our team desperately needs blokes like him healthy and better yet playing to the standard of which they are paid. We’ve got millions sitting on the side line or parked in the NSW cup forward pack. It’s ridiculous and I don’t want to see our club keep losing. Just hope our luck and or form can turn for the better soon.

Agree Muz players like Carty, Matto, Wiremu and Tulagi should be killing it in cup. But that’s not really happening. There’s this malaise over their performances. Throw in Lane, Joe and Brown (Junior was better last week) something needs to change.

Hope you are right mate. It’s perfect time for Dyl to run. Ground is wet and the wet and his running game should benefit if it just runs it.

I was a bit surprised by Sam T being ‘managed’ out of the 17. I thought increased minutes in NRL was the way to go given the middles available. I hear the thoughts on his age and experience but I also see a ‘made for NRL’ player who will handle a blooding program at the top level. But, those closer will know best.

Yeah like he’s off contract and free to negotiate.

Maybe a long career with another club the way our football manager is sleeping at the wheel

Bdon I would feel more confident in our chances if he played. But must be a valid reason he is not. I feel like with the wet ground and less ball movement Sam up the middle would help. Manly does not play as well against teams who beat them up the middle. They play a confidence game and you rarely see them stack points on if their middles are exhausted or physically beaten because they start dropping balls or giving away easy penalties from exhaustion. Then their ball movement & confidence reduces. If Jnr & Joffa turn up very physical we hopefully can be competitive in this game. In my view our only chance is if we win the middle physically and have a better line speed etc to slow down their ball movement. We definitely can’t out attack them.

Good tune in and have not finished – I just hope we see a continuation of last weeks effort all round.
We can definitely win this if we limit the errors and play up tempo.
Manly with their DCE dramas may be ready for the Hyena pride here if we play well.
I also hope to see or juniors play well this weekend.

Guys I dont want to dump on Dylan brown because im hoping he can run the ball as it’s wet and his game plan be more simplified.

But I hope Dylan can watch DCE and get some inspiration . That blokes been unhappy and asking for a release since last year, they even low balled from them and told they won’t offer more deals until other clubs do. Disrespected you could put it. And the bloke officially left manly more or less live on TV. He doesn’t like his coach either and still shows up at 100% for manly.

Even with all of this he has been playing like a star for them throughout this whole time being unhappy, and will probably unfortunately turn up ready to kill parramatta in this game. But I hope he doesn’t.

This guys been treated far less favourably than Dylan and still shows up looking like a star and never ever looks below average in his efforts.

If Dylan can go out there and sees a guy who’s quit his club and is evidently going to be boo’d by every manly supporter, and still perform, but Dylan still barely runs the ball.

I’m probably being emotional here. But if this happens. Jason Ryles might be forced to throw Dylan brown in NSW cup. Dylan Walker was making a bigger impact at warriors at age 30 than brown is at our club in his prime. And now the games biggest paid player ever in terms of contract size.

If he does not show up again, I personally will 100% support Walker being our 5/8 next week.

I reckon Walker would honestly offer more leadership and attack on that left side now than brown offers, the only risk I can see is Walkers defence at 5/8 may not be great because he isn’t playing at 5/8 on a weekly basis.

I know Dylan’s attack and kicking game has reduced but his defence I think is still pretty good.

Same here mate .it’s all his own making I know but I just wished he stayed .the pressure must be immense. An interview I saw yesterday trbojevic Jake comes out and says after being with manly since 14 .he could never leave .I know money talks but I’d like for once to see a parramatta player do that. Moses I suppose but drawn out. To be honest it’s just all changed for me.

        1. Ron

Dylan is young but his handling of this has been awful. From 1) letting the media speculation continue till round 1 to 2) talking up how excited he is to go to knights to 3) letting the decision impact his mental so severely to 4) doubling down and saying it’s not about money. Dylan seems all over the shop and his footy has suffered significantly (something that is a grievance for parra fans who have to put up with a player who has inadvertently disrespected us and now let his decisions take away from his current play). Anyway, a good performance this week can help him move on and make the most of his last year with us

      1. Muz

Shocking. One of our best players. Who would you see replace him? Matto? Or throw Sam Tuivaiti back into the starting 17.

        1. BDon

Muz, just saying…Keir replaced Williams and Sam was never really out of the 17. It did say the injury occurred during the Dogs game, so it was probably known come Tuesday that alternative selection arrangements were necessary.
I am reading that Keir has been in good form in NSW Cup .

          1. Muz

Yeah I knew Dan was selected, but our middle will now feel it massively without Williams who’s been in all honesty one of our best players. I think we will be a lot weaker without Williams. Williams was originally selected on team list but now we don’t know who will be added. Sam I think will be needed for the middle. Especially a wet game where up the middles will get a lot of 1 out runs.

          2. Muz

Don as suggested Sam is back in thankfully:

Guymer is also in. I think this game will be a battle of the middle. Wet ground. Parra all win this game sideways. I like Guymer in the middle off bench + Sam that’s a solid rotation for the middle on the updated list.

Hopefully we see a lot of direct running and not sideways. Manly don’t like to play off a defeated middle who’s making errors and tired. Let’s hope we can turn up again physically with good line speed, otherwise manly will score too many pts.
