The Eels are at home for the first time this season in both boys and girls junior reps round three action.
Eric Tweedale Stadium (Granville) is the venue for the girls as Parra host old rivals, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.
Winning form is good form, and the Eels have been successful across both grades in rounds one and two and will be looking to continue that run in front of home fans today.
Action kicks off in the Lisa Fiaola Cup at 4pm, with Tarsha Gale Cup to follow at 6pm. Unfortunately, the boys teams are scheduled with identical kick off times so you’ll have to jump between my blog and Forty’s blog to stay up to date.

Half time. Eels 16 lead Manly 14
Second Half
Strong first set to Manly with their kick fielded by Nicholas a metre out from her line. Parra strangely take a basic hit up on the last and simply turn it over on Manly’s 40m line. Did they lose count there?
Parra start their next set ten out from their own line. Big run from Misa adances play to the 40 and draws a penalty. Another penalty to Parra two tackles later. Off load to Vaivela who makes inroads on the right. Play is centred in front of the posts now left through quick hands to Cairns who powers over out wide. Terrific conversion from Withers

Conversion from Scrivens

Manly in rare attacking territory now. The bomb is high and it gives plenty of time for the chasers but the ref calls them offside.

Scrivens converts
Eels 28 lead Manly nil after 3 minutes of the second half.
I wish I could give credit to every player involved in this next try, and I’ll do so in a video review. Parra hit the right edge and break the line. But it was the support play which resulted in the try as players kept turning up on the inside and the outside as the team traversed fifty metres in the movement for a superb team try scored by Kalepo
Conversion goes wide
Eels 32 lead Manly nil with 24 minutes remaining.
One on one steal by Auvae as Manly struggle against Parra’s physicality. An Eels error just inside the quarter lets them off the hook.
Manly now advance play to Parra’s red zone on the back of a penalty. Their prop charges at the line and simply refuses to be stopped, pulling out of the tackle twice to plunge over for Manly’s first try.

The teams trade errors as the ball comes back to Parra. A penalty and tap follow with ten seconds left on the clock. Massive hit up by Donvenekham and she’s just short of the line. The play the ball is just before the siren and the Eels shift left. Ngata reels in a tough pass and sets sail for the corner. She uses every bit of her reach to slam the ball down and the officials like it!
Conversion falls short.
Eels 46 defeat Manly 4
Eels forever!
Sixties
The Eels were too strong today – physicality and skill levels were much higher. That said the Sea Eagles kept trying.
Byes next week for the girls. That means they’ll remain undefeated going into round 5.
