NRL Team List
Apologies for the abbreviated TLT this week, I find myself otherwise occupied this particular Tuesday evening.
Parramatta received a humbling on three fronts on Sunday evening as the Raiders, officials and finally their own play conspired to hand the Eels their second loss of the season. The 19-0 shutout was headlined by a nasty rib injury to marquee recruit Blake Ferguson. Ferguson has miraculously avoided landing on the injury list this week and is booked in to take his place on the right wing.
Brad Arthur is still without the services of Manu Ma’u while Dylan Brown remains sidelined on his undisclosed recovery schedule. As the Eels battle through their mounting injury toll, Arthur has tweaked his bench rotation with Oregon Kaufusi and Ray Stone poised to take on the Wests Tigers on Easter Monday. David Gower and Kane Evans are the two players to make way with both forwards posting disappointing performances against the Raiders on Sunday.
There will almost certainly be swirling question marks over Ferguson’s fitness approaching the Monday public holiday and should he fail to pass muster for the game the Eels have Josh Hoffman and Greg Leleisiuao poised to step into the breach.

Naming Fergo on the wing must surely be a Smoke screen. Are we finally going to see GL in NRL?
I like the courage BA is showing by including Stone and Kaufusi on the pine. It would have been a much lower risk to stick with Evans and Gower. These selections are to be applauded.
Agree in each count John. If Kafusi and Stone do their job, it will be hard to see Evans and Gower get runs in the top side again, especially once some of the injured players come back. Ma’u is listed for a round 7 return and I look forward to it.
Both Oregon and Stoney are part of the club’s future. We continue to build for the future.
I watched Stoney get interviewed before a game, the lad is hungry and seems hardend. Glad I will be there for his debut.
Stone debuted in Melbourne last year.
Fergo playing, how good is this guy, had his nose plastered sideways on his face, had a sternum injury and has decided, I am sure with the medico approval, to play on. This guys is everything us parra supporters want in a player. Love you Fergo.
Will all three grades be playing at Bankwest this Monday? I would hope so. Is there a program of events for the day available yet?
The Wenty game is the curtain raiser. Flegg are at Cabra on Saturday arvo.
Thanks mate
Stoney is the crustiest Vato I’ve ever wit-nessed so don’t harsh his gig bud-dy Oooooooooooowwwwwwww!!
Is that your Pauly Shore Michael? 😬😬😬
Really happy with this. Our bench particularly Evans against the Raiders was really poor. They came on and dropped the ball, gave away penalties and missed tackles. They should have been the ones helping out the players on the field who spent 20 minutes tackling, instead they made them do more and did very few runs.
Some young enthusiasm on the bench is exactly what is needed against a mobile Tigers pack.
I’m pleased that Stone has go this shot again because he’s earned it.
Evans has been a very poor buy unfortunately shelley , he will have very limited opportunities from here on in i think , kafusi looks better than him allready and with manu back then brown and the smoky stefano ready to step up its time he looked elsewhere .
Will we see Stone replace Moeroa at lock?
I’d like to think that’s the rotation.
Bevan French on the wing for Wenty?? 🤔 I think we’ll be saying our good byes shortly
I am enthusiastic about our bench, especially with the inclusion of Ray Stone who will give impetus to Oregon Kaufusi with his willingness to engage with the opposition through the middle. I am less enthused by the whispers that the selection of GL on the reserves is to cover for Fergie. I wouldn’t risk his defensive shortcomings in the hope that a wily old fox like Madge Maguire might miss his inclusion. He will put a dismantling plan together between the hour he is named to replace Fergie and game time that could be enough to crush us! Sorry Greg WowWow you haven’t shown me enough in reggies to warrant elevation to NRL.
Not a fan gl either but we have to have a look and make a decision i suppose , plenty of players are made simply by being given a chance , couldnt be any worse than french defensively and can score a try but hes a worry .
I think Hoffman will be the replacement if one is required and you would have to think it will be. It is a pity that Parry is not available he may have been given a run.
John Parry is playing for Wenty, I guess he’s not in the top 30 or ineligible to play, the other one that showed promise was Dunster.
It would be a hard call for GL to be marking up against Fonua defensively.
I think that you are right Col about GL’s defence.
Parry will be eligible come June 30. I think Dunster is playing Jersey Flegg this week.
Both are in the eels 30 man squad according to their web site. Likely both will end up able to play in the NRL come July, at which point we will or should have settled the coaching situation and the signing of key players.
Very tough game this week and i think we are in for a doozy; wests are playing well. I hope we are mentally ready after the hoo ha etc this week. Wests are always tough to beat and they have a good coach who demands a lot. We have to better in those 1 %ers.
I also hope certain contract issues are sorted asap……as this has the potential to hurt our onfield performances and staff. Concerning time.
TCT is Tekina Vailea going good enough for First grade, looks like he got some mongrel whack in him
Hail the arrival of Ray Stone, he will be the best of all the current crop of Juniors. Disclaimer: Keep him away from Dummy Half, we did not see the real Stone last year
