Parramatta Stadium Memories

As we march closer and closer to the start of the 2017 season, a season in which we will be without Parramatta Stadium for the first time since 1986, we thought we would share some of the thoughts, memories and favourite stories that the Blue and Gold legends recounted to us.

We hope you enjoy the reflections on Parramatta Stadium that Eric Grothe Snr, Peter Wynn, Bob O’Reilly, Steve Edge and Mick Cronin shared with us during our 2016 interviews.

Yours in Blue and Gold,

DK Eel

I think from all the interviews we did last year, that story is my favourite by a long way.

      “Get that corpse outta here!”

Loved going there, didn’t get there enough over the years. But I am proud to have been at the first and last games at the stadium, and unfurling the flag on the field is a moment that will live with me forever!

In the same boat with being there for the first and last game of the stadium.

It was a special moment with the large flag being unfurled on the field, glad you got to be a part of that one mate

      🙂

Many great moments at Parra Stadium and some ordinary games to sit through during the mid 90’s but always loved going to the footy there. I was there for the 1st and last games as well and many more in between.

I’ve got a lifetime of memories having been to games at Cumberland since the 1960s. All of the TCT boys were blessed to be at these interviews. I enjoyed the stories told off camera just as much.

So many great moments in Eels history and is there anything better than hearing it from the players mouths themselves? Great work DK
